| @RockDemon: >Being a 'company' when you're only one person can be an exhausting and destructive experience.
That´s true, but no excuse. Nobody forced him to run a company (and make all this announcements). I am a one-man-company, too. Do I act like ACK? No, because I try to run a serious company and handle my customers with respect.

Unfortunately, as stated previously re:Bill's membership on this site: Since he has not posted, -he- can not be reported. I repeat: Quote:
@Colin_Camper
Repeating to clarify what was said:
Quote:
We will be working with the Amiga retailers over the coming weeks to solidify launch and support plans
ok, but we get ahead of ourselves talking retail outlets when we haven't even discussed the production stage, no?
Quote:
@Ackcontrls or more appropriately BillM
http://www.amiga.com/news/index.php?art=26 April 22, 2007 Quote:Manufacturing and final price information along with product launch schedules will be following in the next week.
http://www.amiga.com/news/index.php?art=27 April 29, 2007 Quote:Manufacturing partner and final ship schedule will be following soon.
ok. Promised one week after April 22 and delivered the price information.Good. Any word on who the manufacturing partner is or the ship schedule?
Over 3 months and counting since the promise to deliver information concerning the manufacturing partner and shipping schedule. Not good.
Hmm...ok. Let's explain how the sequence of wording -should- go. You mention "soon" when you don't know, then "next week" when you have the info and plan to release it "next week", then you actually release the info that "next week". You do not say "in the next week" and then, a week later, say "soon". -That- sequence represents a clear step -backward- in planning.
Perhaps AW should add the word "soon" to their swear filter at this point. |
Sorry @PulsatingQuasar if the above is a bit off-topic. But the two are related, and I have yet to see a clarification OR correction on the above.

Is there a time limit? There are some posts within the last month that were, shall I say, "less than friendly"...
Bill M. has zero posts. Thats a bit different I would think.
@ACK Software Controls
None of us can be sure why you are doing what you are doing. But you owe Kneedeep and Ivan their equipment. Now if its no longer available to you to send back then simply get to paying them fair market value to buy replacements. Work out a bloody payment plan if you need to. Do something. If the items are available to you the next time you are out to grab some fast food swing by a shipping store or post office.. Its pretty darn simple. And its the simplicity that makes it all the more gaulling that you would willfully do this to people. _________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200 |

Sorry, but I have no clue how this relates to my post. I am saying that the news releases at AI's website need to be corrected/updated. Again, sorry if you misunderstood.

He dosen't need to fix anything at this point if not done already for Kneedeep and Ivan. He merely needs to ship the equipment back. Do you really honestly think shipping two boxes is "biting off more than he can chew"?
Throwing out announcements and later dashing hopes in them is one thing, but withholding property that is not yours is way beyond that. Its simply wrong._________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200 |

np. ...which is why I mentioned being "slightly" off-topic, but also said the two are related. Bill/ACK clearly not on the same page re:announcements.

Not that any delivery should take anything like a month! |
Actually, I once sent a boxed gfx card by air mail from Finland to France, and it took only 1.5 months to reach its destination.
That's probably becouse it was a combination of two "worst cases", Finnish and French post.
Actually they did have an explanation at the French side: Lots of people had been sick, and the incoming packages had just been piling up, and no-one bothered delivering them |

No, that's not how it reads. Chris is talking about behaviour patterns of a company (ACK), not of a person (Adam Kowalzcyk). Even if ACK might be just a one-man company, Chris carefully avoided naming the owner by his name. |

This discussion has been on going for over a year now, thread after thread. It has become a vendetta in my opinion as well, no matter how its worded. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

Call this what you will, but unfortunately - and more to the point - so has ACK's empty announcements have been going on for well over a year now. If that in your opinion does not warrant the attention then fine, but I guess others disagree. |

My feelings, exactly. I have also been a one man company fo two years, and never that was an excuse to be unprofessional. If you can't do all the job, hire or quit. Or get fusioned with a bigger company, like I did recently. |

amigaabattoir posted that he had received his board. Kneedeep posted that he had not received his board. Someone posting on Ivan's behalf said Ivan had not received his board.
So..1 out of 3 of those currently being discussed. Kneedeep info is current as of last night. Ivan? dunno.

| @Rudei & @sundown It's not a personal vendetta, because ACK has done nothing to me personally. But he has mislead us as a whole, and withheld money & machines from certain Amiga users & developers.
I simply have a strong dislike of companies/people who lie & cheat & get away with it. Personally I would have thought this was a normal part of being human. Do you LIKE people who cheat others? Do you encourage others to get cheated?
Until recently people were giving ACK the benefit of the doubt, because they could imagine various excuses. Well, this time there are *no* excuses to hide behind. This was a very simple thing that he promised to do; packing & posting a few mobos back to their owners.
I simply think that after YEARS of making promises & breaking most of them (see Hatchi's list) that ACK be called to account. I don't care if he is incompetent, a scammer, or simply deluded (mentally ill) - whatever the cause, we need to stop him doing it it any more. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. | @Jupp3 Any delivery should take under 1 week, even to the other side of the world, if posted by the correct method. ACK should be very well aware of the correct way to post something.
More to the point, he can provide tracking numbers when he posts stuff, so it can at least be proven that he has done so. For the single board he returned, he did provide such a tracking number. The fact that no-one else has reported that, and that he has not said he has done that, leads to the simple conclusion that he has not posted either of the remaining Amiga Ones. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. | Whoops missed a sentence in a ChrisH post which made my reply redundant. Basically I agree providing tracking numbers would help a lot if items were actually shipped. Last edited by fairlanefastback on 09-Aug-2007 at 02:45 PM.
