"I wonder why MorphOS team did not wait until it was ready for Efika"
As an Efika user I'm glad I was treated on equal terms to the Pegasos users. I agree that it was unfinished but I didn't have that many problems with it and it's not like I had to pay for it first.

thats why i think having amiga developers split between 3 OS's aint a great idea. but alas, u cant always have what u want...especially with arrogant fools at the helm.

| I hate this sh!t keep having issues...now the install (from usb) drops the keyboard/mouse, so i cant select install
Any work around this?Efika:
Download MorphOS-2.1-efikainstall.img and put it in the root directory of a USB mass storage device. Insert the USB device into a USB port on the Efika. In order to have access to a mouse and keyboard while you are installing from a USB device, we suggest you use a USB hub to connect these input devices. Turn on your Efika. Press escape on the keyboard until you reach the Open Firmware prompt. At the Open Firmware prompt, type: > boot scsi:0 MorphOS-2.0-efikainstall.img MorphOS will now start booting. Please be patient. This may take a short while. Once it is done booting, click on the iWizard icon and start the download of the full MorphOS ISO.. Please note that the default ISO download directory is ram: - however the ISO will not fit there. Therefore, you must manually adjust the download path to match the partition you are installing MorphOS to.
are we to type MorphOS-2.0 or 2.1? I may have messed up!
if not then how does 2.1 come into play?

I didn't notice the mismatched install instructions... Try this -
boot scsi:0 morphos-2.1-efikainstall.img
Providing your usb device is recognised by SmartFirmware, that should get the installer started.
If you're having issues with your usb device(s) then try copying the 2.1 .img and .iso files to your Efika hard drive and install from there instead. Last edited by peroxidechicken on 06-Sep-2008 at 11:51 PM.

Man while I truly do feel for your situation - I am really getting tired of seeing your copy and pastes of the same message on multiple threads on multiple sites. :)
Don't take it the wrong way but it is a bit much.
I would just keep at it and I am sure you will get it. I know I had success with my sony usb stick in the top usb port and my KB & mouse in a powered hub. I would also try getting on the #morphos IRC - I am sure some folks on there can give you some ideas.

This is just me but I'm not a fan of network installs of anything. I downloaded the Efika .img file and the 'Pegasos' .iso This .iso file is what the install wizard seeks via your internet connection *if you let it*.
Instead of letting the install wizard application use it's default source location I entered the local path to the .iso so that it installed from my hard drive.
Good luck & I hope that makes sense. _________________

The MorphOS team put out product that was not finished, I have read many complaints like this one about MorphOS_2.0, the MorphOS_2.1 update was needed now lets hope it fixes what it says it does for the ones that where ticked in to buy some that was not finished. |
So, you are saying that MOS2.0 was brought out premature? I can't say because I do not have MOS. I just hope 2.1 fixes up whatever was wrong._________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

One of our club members has offered his Efika with MOS2.1 installed to show at AmiWest 2008 next month if anyone of us is going to attend. It appears that he cannot go. I want to attend, but don't think I will be able to. Even so, after I moved across the state last year he is now too far away for me to pick it up. _________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

On Efika the 2.0 release had some issues (on the Peg much less), now with th 2.1 release it seems mostly fine. Updating was a thing of a few minutes and now everything works and I am typing this comment o my bedroom's Efika. My Peg will be updated a bit later (system is stable already). _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

Looking at the history changes, quite some nasty things they bugfixed.
But well, maybe it's good MOS exist. For the poor guys who don't have the hardware to run real AmigaOS. |
I agree, it is good that MorphOS exists, but I like to note that I am not a poor soul, neither materially nor non-materially._________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

Come on, be fair, first AmigaOS4 pre-releases were not "bug free" or "state of the art". A good number of updates were also released for OS4.
I think that it's good to have OS updates/fixes each 3 months. _________________ The only spanish amiga news web page/club: CUAZ |
