Hi,

I'm sorry to see that the video(s) I sent are still not played correctly... maybe the next version?

Bye!

Anyone with OS4.0 confirm DSI on "esc" or at end of playback of any file?

I booted into os4.0, no crash. In the mplayer-gui (GUI tab), I have a stack of 500000 set for mplayer.

How can I change the default file patterns in the file requester? The new getvideo allows to download as mp4, but mplayer defaults to mp3 and I have to change it manually.
Worst with mplayer-gui, where you can't change anything

BTW, both versions work fine here (A1XE)

@lucaricossa

on the requester is not possible. except if you use the gui. I'll add for the next version

@all
before using the GUI try mplayer also with the simply command line. Also, take a look at which video mode you are using. SDL is slower than p96PIP
Another thing. If a video is not visible well try to send it to mplayer developers.

@lucaricossa

I reply to myself and add : why have a file pattern ? What if my file has no extension ? Isn't this a legacy of MSDos ?

@lucaricossa

because sometimes we have a dir with different kind of files, exe, images, video, text documents and so on.. so sometimes you have to use file extension.
BTW in the next version there will be also a tooltype for file patterns so you could use also #?

This latest MPlayer doesn't work here. It uses 100% of CPU but no picture and no sound.

I found the problem. If I use cache option then it doesn't work. (I have to use Scout to kill it.) But if I don't use cache option then it works.

(for the other bug fixes and Altivec version (even I don't have G4 myself))

@Tomppeli

that's really strange.. i think that there is something wbroken with the current cache code (the previous one works correctly). But the cache code is mantained by mplayer developers. i haven't touch a line.. i'll test it again..

@afxgroup

just upload a new version (it is on the queue):

* Added a check if the Altivec is available for real when the altivec version
is loaded.. just to avoid the altivec version crash on SAM
* Add the Drag&Drop fuction.. now it is possible to drag the video directly on the mplayer current video and replace it :)
* A new "Load File" menu is present and it allow to load a file also when another is currently playing
* Added two tooltypes SCREENSHOTDIR and EXTPATTERN to change the directory
where to save the screenshots and the ASL pattern of the MPlayer file requester
* Updated to the latest svn version
* Fixed a couple of bug
* Altivec version recompiled
* Now it is possible to take screenshots of a movie pressing 's'

Does the "File pattern" option in the GUI-tab not work for you?

Streaming seems to be broken on this new version. On my system it starts the video and about 3 seconds into it the video just freezes and Mplayer can't be closed or anything. Anybody else have this problem?

Downloading SummerReloaded version...will try if streaming is OK. I've tried April version with ClipDown and streaming is OK while summer version freezes. The same videos downloaded, plays OK.

This Altivec version works fine here.
The one just before complained of missing Arexx functions.

@all

Just a couple of notes for those who still use multiple versions of Mplayer on their system, that might notice a new problem in an older version.
Some people (including myself) were testing some programs recompiled with pthreads. In doing so, we deleted "threads.library" just to be sure these programs were not still dependent on it in any way.

Versions of MPlayer Epiphany RC2 and prior require "threads.library". So, if you are running an earlier version of Mplayer in addition to the current version, and you get a DSI you don't remember seeing before...check to see you didn't delete "threads.library", like I did. Heh!

I know most people know this, just a reminder. "Ignore" sometimes has unknown consequences.
Never rely on "ignore" in Grim Reaper. After an initial DSI checking one of my former versions of MPlayer, I got other messages in shell that I don't remember seeing before. Once I solved the initial DSI, upon a cold start those other messages were gone.
So...be wary of reporting a new issue if you've already seen a DSI in your same session of running any program really.

@afxgroup

I'm testing this reloaded version (from upload queue) and I get this message from all three executables:
Quote:
Sorry, this version is for Altivec capable machine!

You have to run it from Shell to see that message.

@Tomppeli

yep. You don't even need a file.
Just using Mplayer -help will produce the following output from all 3 files in the archive:

Creating config file: /progdir/conf/config
Sorry, this version is for Altivec capable machine!
Exiting... (Quit)

By the way, I'm still not sure why 2 of the same version have been in the last 2 archives.

For future releases will it be possible to incorporate MPlayer and MPlayer GUI into one piece of software?
