@tonyw

I agree. actually, my overal boot time is 1 third of that what it was initially on my sam.

It seems to boot up from cold around 7 seconds faster I believe than before

But for now, that is the only thing i noticed

As for you guys with red lne problems, my assumpton is you are all using Radeon cards?? I have no red line problems ever, but then, I have opted to keep on using the onboard m9 radeon for now, nd might consider change when I hear good news from fellow users regarding red lines or whatever else with their systems GUI wise.

Cheers.

I heard that P96Mode will be removed entirely from OS4.1 update 1. It is considered obsolete.

There are good reasons for removing it from the official OS installation. It's been replaced by another solution (monitor tooltypes) so why not remove an unneeded item from the already overcrowded Prefs directory? Should the user need more tweaking, to "push the monitor to its limits", as Broadblues has said, P96Mode can always be included as a contribution on the install CD. As the editor doesn't match the look of the other system components, it already looks like a 3rd-party utility that came from 3.0 times (which it did, actually) and landed in the OS by mistake.

@Gebrochen

The red line problem occurs with the onboard M9 of the sam440ep-mini here - so it's not special for "external" pci graphics cards.

Yes same here and the graphics corruption always continues to get worse until the system locks up if I don't use the debug kernel with the hot fix, using the debug system my sam440ep is stable and works well.
