@ChrisH

E-UAE 0.8.28
Build date: Sep 20 2005 11:19:07
Found 0 joysticks
Opening cfgfile '.uaerc'...okay.
Opening cfgfile 'DIVERS:E-UAE/.uaerc_RunInUAE'...okay.

and here the same crash than with previous euae version

maybe because I have just kick3.1.rom and not the kick1.3.rom maybe e-uae itself need, on the SAM actually...

@Mrodfr
kick3.1.rom is needed for booting Workbench (for WHDLoad/etc games), while kick1.3.rom is needed for ADF games. Since you seem to be starting Workbench mode, it should be using kick3.1.rom .

If you can run Snoopy before running RunInUAE, then we can see what it is doing leading up to the crash. Might give a hint of the cause.

Can someone post their .uaerc for uae running on the SAM? I keep getting this error:

AMIGFX: Unsupported pixel format.
AMIGFX: Failed to init colors.

...what do I need in the config file to set this up? Using a SAM440 Flex w/ Radeon 9250 in it.

Thanks!

@blakespot
The .uaerc file that comes with RunInUAE should work perfectly with E-UAE v0.8.28 on Sam440.

Try (re)installing RunInUAE r2, and be sure to confirm that you want to replace the .uaerc file if asked. Also ensure to have E-UAE v0.8.28 installed (you can have more than one version of E-UAE installed at once), and use that with RunInUAE.

Please make any replies in the following thread, as I do not guaratee to read this thread any longer:
RunInUAE r2 released - much improved!

Can those getting this problem *please* report information about their system, so maybe I can see a common factor. For example: * Which version of OS4? (4.0 or 4.1) * Do you already have DiskImage installed? (And which version if you know it.) * Which version of Amiga Forever are you using? * What programs are in your WbStartup drawer? * Which machine is OS4 running on?

Hi Chris

I'm still having the same issue with V2 of Runinuae

I'm running OS 4.1
Amiga Forever 2006
AmigaOne XE 933mhz G4
disk image gui latest version from os4 depot.

Thanks for replying - you are the first person (IIRC) to give me some of the answers I requested.

I really don't have a clue why mounting of disk image fails for a few people: It works for me, and just like you I have the latest DiskImage GUI (from OS4Depot), Amiga Forever 2006, and OS4.1. As I am unable to reproduce the problem, I'm not sure what else I can do. Really need someone with AmigaDOS knowledge to get this problem, then they might be able to find why it is happening....

If I were to start making wild stabs in the dark, I would ask you thing like:
* What files are in your Devs:DOSDrivers drawer?
* Did DiskImageGui have any images mounted when my installer was used?
* Are you able to mount an ADF using DiskImageGUI in IDF0?
* Does removing DiskImageGui from WbStartup, and then rebooting, allow the installer to work?
* If not, does removing IDF0, IPC0, ICD0 & ICD1 from DOSDrivers, and then rebooting, allow the installer to work?
* What utilities do you have in WbStartup folder?
* Are you running anything in S:User-Startup?

That MIGHT allow me to find the problem & fix it.

@ChrisH

It is strange, shame too cos it seems to be a tool I would use a lot. Is there any way I can mount manually or install the files manually for it to work?

My WBStartup has these:

At the risk of you loosing the motivation to answer my questions, RunInUAE only needs a copy of the Workbench 3.1 disk to work. You can find that on Amiga Forever CD as an ADF. Mount that in IDF0, and copy EVERYTHING to some folder (IIRC you can just drag & drop the IDF0/Workbench icon somewhere). Then tell RunInUAE installer that you already have a Workbench 3.x installation you want to use, and point it to where it can find it. Done!

HOWEVER, first I would really like to see if these steps fix the problem for you, as that would help diagnose the problem:
Quote:
* Does removing DiskImageGui from WbStartup, and then rebooting, allow the installer to work?
* If not, does removing IDF0, IPC0, ICD0 & ICD1 from DOSDrivers, and then rebooting, allow the installer to work?
