Quite an achievement to get such result with 128 MB RAM and not reliable SWAP... I really hope FPU emulation on Tabor will be faster. |
what i understand all freescale Nix cpu have emulation of old powerpc fpu instruction set. but what i dont understand is why on Linux 5020 build software as Altivec ... and why altivec programs run faster than generic _________________ I love Amiga and new hope by AmigaNG A 500 + ; CDTV; CD32; PowerMac G5 Quad 8GB,SSD,SSHD,7800gtx,Radeon R5 230 2GB; MacBook Pro Retina I7 2.3ghz; #nomorea-eoninmyhome |

e500v2 FPU is incompatible with "normal" PowerPC FPU. Linux uses softfloats+traps to solve this problem (= 1/100 of native performance). I don´t know, if some sort of clever emulation (like 68k FPU on PowerPC FPU in OS4) is even possible.

These have probably better optimalisations on other places too. |

Toni Willen is true master of code. WinUAE is probably most affordable platform for OS4 today. I really don´t get, why Hyperion still ignores needs of fastest growing part of its customers... |

Thats is the same test file as Klx300r ?
As your emulated Powerpc is 7 times faster then a real 1,8 Ghz cpu !

sounds amazing assuming he's using only one CPU core, using AmigaOS4.1FE and Andy's Blender v2.48a

You see this wrong (lower is better):
X1000 needs 7 minutes and my emulated enviroment 1 hour... (QEMU CPU core emulates FPU only by softfloats = slooooooooow ). |

What method is used in here? How to do proper benchmark to compare my results? |

How could you even start Blender ? I mean there is probably a lot room for optimization here.
Do you run it with Wazp3D or something else ? |

As different Blender versions give different results (eg. 100 %) with same test, direct comparison is possible only with the very same version (OS4 2.48 in this case). |

You don´t need to run Blender with GUI to make benchmark (it takes cca 60 MB for this task).Last edited by pavlor on 06-Feb-2016 at 09:08 AM.

Download test.blend from there:
http://eofw.org/bench/
write in cli (probably with some stack eg. 2000000 and command like changetaskpri -1 as in original batch file and icon):
blender -b test.blend -f 1 |

Surprisingly good result, did you use the same test file as in OP? |
