I saw last Amiga Future magazine but thought that was not the actual case but an idea for one.

So, has the official case been shown anyplace yet?

@MacSociety

Official case has not been shown yet, but it may look similar to the one already shown, with some minor ammendments to the amiga communities wishes, to get rid of the giant X on the side.

Having said, that, Id love to know if they decide to have to case options, one with the X and one without, and replaced by a giant boing ball, in colour checkers perhaps.

All exciting stuff.

Cheers

@Gebrochen

It would seem that the 'name the faces' photo in the AWompetition 2 had an actual photo of the case.

Check it out:

That poster is not something that forwards the Amiga platform The people involved should hold fire until they have something more professional!

@tiffers

Actually tiffers, it is not guaranteed to be the final design, just like the last Amiga Future issue was not supposed to be the final design of the case.

Soooooooo

No need to .............................................................nevermind.

Cheers

Sure.. it's a nice case but it's nothing special. It's a standard pc-case not an "Amiga"-case.

Costs ~ $105 or ¤80

But it is customised! Just like the A4000T case in that respect; it conforms to PC standards but has an Amiga twist!

@Bushy

Thanks. For that price I'd go with some Chieftec, but that's just me. My favorite cases are made by old IBM computer division and now Lenovo. Most people get sick just by looking at them.

Hm, so AEon will not design their own case, just add a brand (I hope to goats that it won't be this "embedded boingball") to generic PC case. I guess it will be the same with keyboard.

Photoshopped. At least this bottom sticker is. AEon is in a dire need of someone who can do graphic.

@BigD

"X1000 Case in the flesh! "

If it comes with the "engraved" boing logo, it's pretty cool. (IMHO, ofcourse)

I wonder if the initial setup really would need any air flow in/out of the case to stay cool?
At least SAM440ep setup is ok with dust free-air sealed metal case.

Opi, small comparison (in Polish): http://pclab.pl/art40680.html

As you can see - it's not bad case at all. The only problem is: Can we call it the "custom amiga case"?

And what about the keyboard - Will it be generic PC keyboard with Amiga boingballs instead of windows keys?
