@sundown
just mail me and I'll fix it..

@sundown, @pavlor and all of you other who added yourself the last few days
I have been on this forum for a while, but not as active that I wish I had time for. When I see an increase of the submissions to the map, I check the referers to it, and eventually I will land in the thread which contains the link to the map..

So here I am for a while, as long as there is a steady flow of new users. I will do my best to verify each of you as fast as possible, while trying to keep duplicates down, cleaning data (moving from "public info" to "systems"), remove false submissions which doesn't add anything useful to the map etc.

Notice how there's no one from India posted, yet they have all the NOS A1200s

@AmiDelf2

Have just added myself to the map. Still have an A1200 which has become a bit borked. Am thinking of looking at AROS these days. Seems its come a long way from when I last tried it.

This is great. The more register, the bigger truth about how many Amiga users there are worldwide. Helps developers, people want to enter Amiga community or even just outsiders claiming were 2 Amiga people in this world, hehe :)

Interesting map... I can see that someone down the road from me in Holton-le-Clay with a bunch of Amiga. Although at the same time I can still a lot of white on the map of the world as a whole.

@djrikki

UK got many Amiga users it seems still. Thats good. I am certain there are more in Scandinavia too, or atleast in Germany and Poland. USA have too little Amigans on that map too?

But the map also shows how Amiga intersts is combined with differences in the world between "western" Europe + USA and the rest of the world. Amiga have survived in liveable countries. Dont know if its good or a bad thing in what I see on that map, but I am sure that Amiga can establish itself in many parts of the world for a cheaper price and an good alternative to Windows and Mac in the future.

Great that so many more have registered on that map. Makes me happy :)

I wonder why only that few Germans are on that list. There are quite some, but it seems they prefer keep being invisible.

Just some info..

I have modified my admin-part of the map to send a message to users that I for some reason do not want to activate. The message is as follows:

--
Your point on the AMiGA map has been deleted. The reason for removal was:
(no reason given, you probably know why)

If you want to be on the map, resubmit and enter (more) correct information. You may be anonymous (fill in blanks in fields you do not want me to know anything about), but enter useful information where you enter something. Be as correct as you want to be with your location, but do not just search for a city (use at least a street address, and move your point manually to a nearby park or something if you do not want people to be able to guess your real location.
--

If I give a reason for removal, it usually is
"duplicate" (you submitted two times or more),
"duplicate (too generic) coordinate", which means you just searched for a city to get your coordinates, and your point will be overlapping or be overlapped by someone else's.
"incorrect (fake) coordinates" something incorrect typed in by hand in the coordinate fields, will trash the map if I activate the point.

I have also added a "low prio / incomplete data" mode, which makes "anonymous" points less visible (they might be overlapped with other points at a nearby location)

So happy to see new users here. This is a proof of Amiga beeing quite big, even with all sorts of companies failing helping Amiga, users still sticks to their Amigas and makes it reach even 2020 :)

Lets all start a new future, with accepting each others Amiga systems like AmigaOS4, MorphOS, AmigaOS3 and AROS... Were all fighting for the same thing. This map makes me happy, because it show what incredible good job AmigaOS creators did! Users loves this system because they do and not because some company or Steve tells you to use it. If that was the case, I doubt Amiga would live for so long as it is and will.

Great to know that there are many more people than just you in Argentina :) I am sure there are many Amigans around the world which havent found amigaworld.net even. Let this map grow. Its good for the future of Amiga and future development for this platform.

Spread it :)
