we had in past... and was great ... but it is no more upgraded it was PC Task ..

DosBox 68k is only 1/3 as fast (that is still good!), but far more stable and compatible.

Comparison of PC emulators for Amiga (all on AGA, same WinUAE box) with The Doom Benchmark:
DosBox 0.74 (NovaCoder) - 6679 realtics (11.1 FPS)
PCTask 4.40 Dynamic - 2302 realtics (32.4 FPS)

@pavlor

1/3 is really much :P ...
you are making an emulation in emulation 8) and pctask video was not too much good ... try the cpu bench im sure will be much better :)
i forgot pc task was made all in Asm this slow down the emulation (Jit)
plus there are to config some tool types for meke it run much better and optimized for 040 cpu

My A1200 is too slow for that purpose.

I think it is not that slow under WinUAE, but sure, that would slow down Doom benchmark (at least a little bit).

My favourite dhrystone benchmark don´t work on my setup.

Nonesense.

Will look on that. But I think nearly 100 MHz 486DX performance is sufficient.

I dont remeber where i read an article about the Jit when it found an asm code turn off and become interpretative..

Interpretive emulation wouldn´t be that good as it is on my WinUAE box.
With JIT, emulated 68k CPU is roughly as fast as 1/16 of native x86 CPU (single core).
PCTask gives me speed near of 486DX 100 MHz, that is arount 1/30 of "native" 68k performance. (all my estimates based on benchmarks I performed)

For comparison, QEMU emulates cca 1/45 of native single core performance (plain dynamic emulation without virtualization or accellerator).

If you have it, please PM me, especially if it can work under OS4Quote:
however on x1k linux will sure give better results and may be possibly rather treated as an objective hardware benchmark, just because os4 doesnt support half of the system.

Completely agreed, but then again, its only way to see more then 4GB RAM. X1000 can take
up to 4x4-16GB.

i remember some (few) software to encoding video 68k and PowerPC: Wildfire. ok, it's very old, but for some test could be interesting

Wildfire PPC

Used to dream about in my A1200/28Mhz/FPU days

I don´t know if OS4 supports old WarpOS applications on PA6T. Try it and we will know more.

@pavlor

PCTask is slow in graphics emulation.
so you can easy emulate cpu and fpu operation, buit not gfx.

of course thanks to modern x86 power and winuae you can use pc-task greatly, but in game you are limited in gfx.
One times with 68040@40 with PC-Task i ran StarTrek - Final unity, but very very slow..
i think now with WinUAE, the grame could be run very well.

That must have been about self-modifying code, not assembly code (there would be a few things to say here, but I won't because this is already OT).

Sadly, NO. So lucky MorphOS users only.

OK then SAM 460 and X1000 :)

Raised it as feature request
http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.biz/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2025

but I somehow doubt they really take our request seriously.
May I be proven wrong.

Would respond to it, but it was locked thread.

Yes it is possible but WarpOS support is not a priority at this time.
