@rebraist

Youtube is no problem, it's handled through HTML5 instead of Flash for better performance.

OWB MorphOS supports plugins, and i've written a Flash plugin based on swfdec. Unfortunately, swfdec (just like gnash) is rather slow and not compatible with Flash 9 and later.

But it's still enough to display most ads (sigh), some sites and play a couple games. Video playback is a bit too demanding, though (which is why youtube is best viewed through HTML5 video).

@Fab

Did you try latest Gnash ?
It's always a bit slow but now it's very compatible with YouTube and other video portals

@samo79

Then it just caught up with swfdec. I expect a bit more than that. :)

Plus the way OWB handles youtube now is even more convenient than by flash. HTML5 content is no prob at all and the flash only videos are accessible by a little embedded script. You can just replay them like they were normal html5 files or download them and view in an external player. It's really great.

@retro

Your English is quite hard to understand. Sure, nobody must know perfect English, but the weaker your English is, the likelier you get misunderstood.

you can comment on it but i wont replay it wasent ment that way at all. iff you desiced to flame its your own time you are ussing/loosing.

First of all, I am a little unsure as to where the WW2 and other references came from in relation to my post to you. All I pointed out was that your posts in this particular topic were off-topic an unrelated to the system at hand.

We don't like AOS threads being polluted with derogatory remarks, or off-topic posts, and in the same manner, we would appreciate if these threads for MOS/AROS are not subject to the same issues from AOS users.

If someone decides to "flame", it is the Terms of Service that are being abused/broken, and we will act accordingly.

i mean wee have ibrowse,netsurf,owb and tb
i would like an complete uptodate browser ( can i use the "word" solution?) i belive hitler spoked german but it might have coursed the English langue as well.

There are more browsers than that - you forgot AWeb as well (although again it hasn't been updated in quite some time), and I presume you meant TW (Timberwolf) rather than TB. However, again this is irrelevant to this topic (OWB for MOS). Whether development started on OS4 or MOS is neither here nor there, the fact remains this thread is about the current OWB release for MOS. Again, I do not understand your reference to Hitler.

Quote:
i see os 4.x as the next gen amiga,
not linux with an amiga like gui or mophos or unix with an emolator

That is fine, and it is your choice, but as I have said - it is off-topic in both this Forum (Alt-OS) and this thread (OWB on MOS). It really cannot be that hard to understand surely?

Quote:
what about all the games that is out for mophos with not run on os 4.x shall we demand that the coderes make them for our platform aswell.
but evey time a bounty or somebody do someting then wee got mos fanboys dislike it or flame it if its not made for morphos.we dont see os 4.x usseres pretent to be mos ussers and showing up at mos homepage's with the message wee will not suport until its made for os 4.x too....

Most people ask for the code to be ported or released. It is up to the developer if they wish to do so. Demanding things rarely gets you anywhere (and is likely to get your preferred OS choice ignored by the developer). Bounties are there to port or create something specifically in relation to that bounty. If it is for AROS, then one expects it to be made for AROS. Likewise the same is true for MOS or AOS bounties.

In some cases, the code, once created, can be easily ported to the other systems by a willing developer if the source is available, but this will depend on the bounty itself and any restrictions on it. Now honestly, this really is way off-topic. All I am asking, is for you to not post anything unrelated to OWB on MOS in this thread.

Sure altrought not all Flash-type content are video related, so a good Flash is mandatory in a certain term
