I copy the executable inside the previous version, because here I have all pluggins and skins,now I'll test it without the Engine drawer.

I have not removed the "engine" drawer. It comes with the archive. Again, your problem might be prefs.

You might remove sndfile.library from libs:, since it is no longer required for .wav, etc. If it's required for another application that you run, then disregard my advice.

The speaker pluggin works fine, because it is my preferred, and it is the first pluggin that I tested, and sorry I read your previous post so fast that I don't read the content.

No problem. Please check the 4 plugins that are included and see if you get the same result as what I posted. Another confirmation won't hurt.

Yes, I think that my problem is in the preferences, I not remove the old.

Let us know if you get it working without crash.
We can go through the prefs settings with you if you need them.

I get a DSI crash on exit on my A1200 with AOS4.1 beta. I uploaded a crashlog here http://crashlog.os4depot.net/cl319.

Othere than that the AmigaAmp works really great. Thanks for your work Wenzel.

Nothing, I could saw that the 3.1 version the playlist provokes the crash in my system, but with the 3.0 not, I use this version because works fine, until this bug will be correct.

@Templario

Understood, but no one else is reporting this.
I'm looking at your 1st post...

Quote:
I tested the new version 3.1 and it works bad, when I tryed to open dir the player is halft crashed

To me that mean that:
(1)You started V3.1 ok
(2)You clicked the gadget (up arrow) to get a directory listing
(3)crash

Is that correct?

Yes, these are the steps until the final crash.

@Templario

I can't reproduce your problem.
Using the same prefs I have always used:
I've started and used V3.1, V3.0, the OS4 beta, and the prior 68k version using the native OS4 PPC engine...all without any issues.

Someone else might have an idea I hope.

@thread

Something else I've noticed. Can anyone confirm?

If you have loaded a number of songs into the playlist, it always advances to the next when done with the previous.
By leaving "prefs" open on screen, the song still plays but refuses to advance to the next entry until "prefs" is closed.
Anyone else see that?

Also I started with the same AmigaAmp versions, well, as the 3.0 version plays the music without problems, I continue use it, until a next version.

I have seen it when having the filerequester opend, it's not a big deal but would be better if the music didn't stop because of that. AmigaAmp works well here so it's now my prefered mp3 player again.

Typical for many programs; any open requester would block the program. AmigaAmp consists of three processes: Main, Play, Display. Play and display still runs when the Asl is opened which is why it keeps on playing and the animations are running, but the main task that handles user input and apparently song switching are blocked waiting for the Asl requester.

A bit annoying at times, but very normal. What it could do is to put up a sleepy pointer on the windows. That would help inform the user.

No, but I suppose someone is making a RA prefs GUI, integrated or not, instead of my old MUI prefs which was a bit of a temporary solution.

Yes, but thats quite normal, a cause of the "internal workings" of a "threaded design". The player task most likely depends on information from the GUI task, which file to open next.

As long as the GUI task is blocked (e.g. by a requester or open menu strip), it cant advance to the next file (means: gathering file information, locks etc.), and because of this it cant tell the player task which data file it should open, when the current file is played to its end (the exact workings depend on the design. Maybe AmigaAMP player task receives its data from an internal buffer, which is filled by the GUI task, then the way the player task is blocked is only slightly different).

Its possible to re-design such a thing in a way that the player task is fully stand-alone for a given playlist (e.g. inventing a "loader task" which feeds the player task with data retreived from files of a given playlist), but thats too much "candy" IMHO

Edit: Uh oh, missed Deniils post, so its double post, somewhat...

It's actually about me making the RA-based prefs editor for AmigaAMP And to give you an update: the editor is finished and integrated, it will just get some more tests before it goes public. And before interested translators send in their catalogs (the editor is fully localized).
