Poll : What do you think?
Plain simple paranoid BS
Interesting reading, still BS
Largely BS as Nibiru isn't nearby at this point
I'm open minded, could be true... But I'm sceptical
I think there's much truth in this
I'm convinced Nibiru/Planet X is looming nearby
Interesting gotta do some research

@MikeB

That would be some lifeforms to sustain themselves under such pressure and radiation.

interesting thing, why has the speed increased ?

A couple of days ago my compass went beserk and I wasn't the only one to notice. It was constantly 90 degrees off and fluctuated a lot away from normal! There is much info to be found about this on the internet.

There is also something up with Saturn's magnetosphere, which has scientists puzzled:

Have you read "Chariots of the Gods" ?? I read that in the 80s and loved it. It got me started on this kind of research.

@tomazkid

The magnetic poles do that. It can be inconvenient at times.

Geomagnetic reversal is pretty well-documented and the causes basically seem to boil down to the periodic disturbance of the dynamo flow within the core. Causes for this are still occasionally debated - models indicate spontaneous chaotic flow events that lead to reversal, but some insist that an external force such as mantle plume activity, subduction or that old favourite the bolide impact, is necessary.

However it happens, what we observe is the occurrence of chaotic fluid flow patterns in the core. This leads to reduction in magnetic field strength (we're currently observing a decline in field strength, falling for the past 2,000 years or so, although it is still within the range of normal non-reversal-related fluctuation) and a migration of magnetic north. Why is it accelerating? Its called chaotic flow for a good reason.

Quite the opposite. If scientists blindly believed what we read in textbooks and what figures of authority said, we'd still believe the Earth was a 6,000 year-old disc located at the centre of the Universe.

@MikeB

Sub-brown dwarf stars are interesting. Some of them are pretty much indistinguishable from the 'hot Jupiters', so there are plenty of ways for 'exotic' life chemistry to operate, and its possible that enough internal heat could be generated to sustain a basic ecosystem, even in complete darkness. The recent discovery in California of that bacterium which survives in what was previously considered totally inhospitable by substituting ars-enic for phosphorous highlights the observation that life crops up in every environment found on Earth's surface, no matter how extreme.

edit - just working around the word filter.

There are disasters all the time.

But, hey let's look at what is going on "right now" Mike. I assume you were alive back in 1986 like most of us here? The Amiga was just taking shape. Guess what else was happening!?!?

DISASTER!! The end of the WORLD!

Chernobyl!! Yes. Many of us spent our April of 1986 wondering if radiation was going to come across the ocean and poison us. Just like many people will spend April of 2011 I suppose.

Bombing of Lybia! Yes. April of 1986 we watched the news as we waited to see what would become of Gaddafi and his regime in much the same way many of will do this April 2011 I suppose.

Did the world end in 1986..87..88..89....???

No one can predict the future. Not even fleecy moss.

Some facts.

- Severe weather changes.
- Severe increase of earthquakes wordwide (and volcanic activity) despite conspiracy theorists point out a lot of them go under-reported and claimed to be of lower intensity than they really are, (but are reported elsewhere by local services and often being of higher magnitude there).
- Mass animal deaths.

I think the above need no links as the internet is flooded with them.

Another thing which got scientists puzzled was when the sun rose 2 days early on Greenland:
http://www.datelinezero.com/2011/01/23/the-sun-rose-2-days-early-in-greenland/

Also interesting may be that the Wooly mammoths went extinct about 3600 years ago from Northern America and Northern Europe/Asia.

"In 2009, cosmic ray intensities have increased 19% beyond anything we've seen in the past 50 years"

http://www.astromart.com/news/news.asp?news_id=994 (According to conspiracy theorists Nibiru at the time was still located behind the sun from earth perspective, but not anymore)

Severe weather happens. Nothing new there, and we know about past events where the weather was worse with no alien starships involved at all.

Severe earthquakes? You're right that they go under-reported, but there is a reason why. 'Magnitude 7 Earthquake Happens in Middle of Nowhere, No-one Affected!' doesn't make for a very good headline. There have been two big ones and one really big one that have happened near some major population centres this year. Bad luck, yes. Humanitarian disaster, also yes. Sign of the coming apocalypse? No, not really.

Mass animal deaths? Well, they don't have as much habitat as they used to, and they're often under much greater survival pressures now than before. But its all down to some really rather mundane reasons, almost all of which are due to expanding human societies..

Early sunrise? The article you link to tells us that the sun rose at the expected time in Fairbanks, Alaska (of course), and provides an explanation for the early apparent sunrise in Greenland as being linked to thinning of the ice sheets. Which makes sense. Imagine the sun rising from behind a hill. Then remove the hill and watch in amazement as the sun rises early tomorrow!

Mammoths? The only mammoth remains dating conclusively to around the 3700 years before present range are the pygmy mammoths of Wrangel Island. The rest had all died out some time previously.

And of course the cosmic rays thing. 19% higher than anything seen in the past 50 years, eh? So presumably, they were last this high in 1960...

It's interesting. We know life can exist under extreme pressures in our oceans, maybe life can exist under massive gravitational conditions as well.

The Sumerians claim their gods to be human-like, such life may be more likely on an orbiting planet. Within our solar system Io is an interesting celestral body, a moon of jupiter. This moon is being kept hot underneath its surface by Jupiter's gravitational pull despite being located so far from the sun (it has a molten core like the earth does).

Maybe or before this this wasn't being measured. For example the earth was reported by scientists to be on average a little less than 1 degree Celsius warmer than it was 100 years ago. Before this there isn't sufficient data to make any bolder claims.

Actually I think the pioneering was done in the 70s.

Seems the Ring of Fire, has increased it's activity.

Active volcanoes both in Kamtjatka and Japan, as well as Hawaii atm.

@tomazkid

On a historical timescale, perhaps the activity might seem to be increased. Remember that these things do not operate like clockwork. But on a geological timescale, we are seeing nothing remarkable.

The tsunami warning is for a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 20:00 GMT. It is now 00:25 GMT. Hence, the US tsunami warning centre advises a very low chance of a local tsunami.

edit - as of 00:35, the Indonesian authorities have lifted the tsunami warning. Magnitude 7 Earthquake Happens in Middle of Nowhere!

True, satellite records start in 1958 and they're the best ones.

Oh, I wouldn't say that. Instrumental data goes back into the mid 19th Century in most areas, and we have other tools to apply as well. We also have other options to deal with cosmic rays:

Levels of solar activity determine how much cosmic radiation gets in to Earth - low solar activity leads to a weakened heliosphere, allowing more cosmic rays into the solar system. We're currently coming out of a fairly deep solar minimum comparable with other recorded minima. We've been recording solar activity for centuries, too - we just didn't know that's what the sunspots meant.

Regarding the mammoth:

"They lived from the Pliocene epoch from 4.8 million years ago to around 3,500 years ago."

http://www.itsnature.org/rip/dinosaurs/mammoth/

"It retreated to northern Siberia about 14,000 years ago, where it finally died out approximately 4,000 years ago. "

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-11000635

"Woolly mammoths died out because of dwindling grasslands - rather than being hunted to extinction by humans"

More info in general:
http://www.answersingenesis.org/tj/v14/i3/mammoth.asp

Also around that period:

"Using a new computer simulation of the Earth's climate, German scientists say that the Sahara underwent a brutal climate change about 4,000 years ago."

This is what happens when people that has knowledge in astronomy, charlatans that is, try to lure "ordinary people" to given them their money. I can see the billboards in front of me:

Quote:

Have you bought your Niburu insurance yet?

Buy Niburu proof umbrellas here.

Help us save Earth, donate to a Niburu crushing warhead now!

and so on.

A planetary body of that size would have been detected decades ago especially if it was moving in-system. We who know astronomy is just leaning back and watch the idiocy unfold.
