Positive thinking?
Surely a ticket to a ten year posting restriction. Heh.

My pc with a 5830 1GB card does 999 fps which is 900 more than the C64x so what?

If someone would just mention Hitler, then we could apply Godwins law and lock these circular threads....

Hmmm I just mentioned Hitler... TWICE

Am I supposed to say x86 is better than Hitler now?

Vox, since you quoted Cashmore, here he is again:

"The expression 'I and I'... means that dualities such as 'you and I' are absurd"

I'm not saying that I and I is never used to mean me; just that it's not the original meaning. I might be wrong on that score, but even if I am, Cashmore - in the quote you gave - was talking specifically about the usage where I and I means "we". It might be worth reading some of his works rather than just one quote from him on the internet!

Other quotes.

From Urban Dictionary:

"1. I and I

Used in the rastafarian religion in place of "you and me" to show that all people are equal under Jah.
'Your parents are coming to see I and I.'"

From Rastafarianism and the Reality of Dread by Paget Henry:

"A plurality of Rastafarians produces not a 'we' or a 'you and I' but an 'I and I'.

From Come back to me my language: poetry and the West Indies by J. Edward Chamberlin:

"'We' becomes 'I and I'"

From Chevannes, quoted in Reggae, Rastafari, and the Rhetoric of Social Control by Stephen A King and P Renée Foster:

"Because everyone is an 'I', one does not say 'we' for plurality, but says 'I and I'."

Comparison is no good, as Terron was shipped with Linux with soon betas of AOS 4.x which will be COS 1.x in your case.

I think it was about a year before the OS4 beta was released, if my memory is correct. Point is both the Teron mobo (any bets on A1X1K?) and C64x have come out using Linux as a place holder OS. C64x will have in the coming months COS 1.x which is based on Ubuntu. Personally I don't have that much of an interest in either Ubuntu or COS 1.x series, I have Fedora on two systems already. Now what COS 2.x series turns out to be, that could be something very special to the Amiga community as something that is modern that runs on x86/ARM. Time will tell, perhaps more details will be released in late fall with a road map on where COS 2.x begins it's own journey.

I would say that is accurate, I have yet to see where you know what you are talking about as far as C=USA products and plans.

Well, who is in a C=USA thread trolling? One or two posts sniping at C=USA is one thing, continuing to spam it and then claim you are a victim is laughable.

Like all x86 & ppc boards, the x1000 will indeed run linux. Varisys used linux to test the first 5 boards because it has all the tools to do so, unlike os4. Beta testers however, will not be testing linux or the h/w, they will be beta testing os4.

You c=usa guys like to spread a lot of fud about the x1000 only running linux because they used it for testing. Like all good trolls, you twist whats real to suit your needs.

I wouldn't worry about them, it's just the moral majority and the PC brigade getting their knickers in a twist over what they consider to no be PC (which is just about everything really)...

Hmmm.... other forums eh... !!!

Didn't know you visited the same adult chat site as me...

Side note.

Just be sure to get wrist rests for the people using them. CTS is real, painful, and avoidable with
proper equipment and careful use.

@Mechanic

Took that into consideration: the machines won't be for our offices but for another area, where computers are operated basically by mouse, with the (rare) intervention of some function keys.

I would never want someone to use a C64 keyboard for hours - which makes me wonder: how did I survive my childhood? I spent whole afternoons coding basic stuff on the breadbin...

@jas_mc

I&I is first and over all, rastafarian denomination for "ME" in oness with Jah.
It replaces we, us also but as in English language depends on context.
Yes I, I&I here first think of Jah by side, mostly in my speech it replaces "I" as easily understood with additional strenght of conviction.

Secondly, it can express unity, here, alonside with other Amigans in unity with my opinion.
But Amiga used to be a worldwide thing.

Nothing against find your personal strenght, in religion, why not.

Dem no fool I&I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIosNKu1ETk

Strictly Serbian HC roots, Serbian roots reggae lyrics

"through all this time u know i'm telling the truth
no need to lie we better step to the truth
see i've been thinkin' need to know what's the truth
i wanna truth, strictly the truth
just take a look upon
mother nature's judgment must be done
just take a look at sun
armagedion tommorow come
i never troubled nobody
never kill, never will, try not to fool nobody, it's against my will
think i'm a righteous man
coming with a righteous plan
foolin` I n' I

the ground is shakin,
but we ain't gonna miss
power to the people brutalised by police
see, no more war, no more go underground,
we're thinking straight, while your drug is around
see i'm a righteous one
and i'm coming with a righteous plan
see i'm a righteous men
and i'm dealing with a righteous plan

i've never torubled nobody.....
foolin I n' I

my loneley nation, it's admiration
people never go lazy
spirit liberation, it's admiration
to be reborn mentaly!

see I'm a righteous one...."

Endless circle of unity is niceness, sadness to see its explot, everytime.
Wicked side of human nature.
Amiga demo scene for example, demonstrated it - art offspring lead by people with same goal. Strange for community mostly made of atheists that listen to psy trance or heavy rock, but like there was a comment pon my Tube channel "I&I Amigan also and ragammufin, nothin betta" or similar.

Blessings from Belgrade,
V.
