It is 100% not a rumour. It runs AmigaOS already and drivers are still in development. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

Is it a special Amiga version being made for us or is it a generic machine that is already on the market?
Who makes it?

| This is great news! I become a father four months ago, and this has meant that my computer room - and MicroA1 - is packed away.
A laptop would mean bringing Amiga back Into my everyday life
Where can I preorder - This is a certain buy for me! _________________ Kind regards, Morten

| Okay, I've been to a party, got back home really early in the morning so I might have trouble doing the 'read and understand part of life'. But, this is not a late April's fools joke right? Can someone be so kind and point me to the source of this rumor? If this is true, and maybe 2012 is not viable bur 2013 or 2014 is, then I will seriously start saving up!

If Steven Solie from Hyperion writes that it is for real, then you better believe it ;)

This is, for me, even more exciting news than the announcement of the X1000. I really have to start raising funds _________________ Back home... |

| Awesome !
@ssolie, hyperionmp
Can you plz answer on few questions ? The questions is:
- How fast cpu ? 600-800 ? - What Gfx card onboard (i.e. will it have 3d support in end by gallium/mesa)
And the more important one:
- Will it solds as amiga-specific HW from amikit/etc only, or, any user can just order it from any shop, and install os4 on it just with bying licence for ?
If it will possible to avoid all those "amiga-specific-hw-dealers", then it will be just awesome. That will mean no more problems with HW for any new customers, as they can just order it where they want and fix them whatewer they want. And that will just mean that there will be new users and developers.

I hope it's fast, cheap and available soon. Well, at least point 1 & 3!

Oh my! I'm drooling already!!
I work away from home a lot and my little netbook is a godsend. An Amiga netbook would be just awesome.
I just need to figure out how I'll afford both an AmigaOne X1000 and a netbook.
Surely, it must be an ARM device? _________________ Fred Booth ======================================== A500, A600, A1200 c/w Mediator and 030 AmigaOne and OS4.1 Mac LCII, G4 Powermac running OSX + Amigakit and MorphOS 3.0 Dell Mini 10 Netbook running IcAros and AmigaForever+Amikit+AmigaSys 2006 Macb |

If derived from one of those evaluation systems, performance might be equal to Sam440 price will be above 1200$ US.
- Early prototypes might be shown before end of 1012. - Preorder of a "special firtst contact BETA edition" inculding AOS4.2.6 without power saving function around the end of 1013 _________________ AmigaONE. Haha. Just because you can put label on it does not make it Amiga.

The device already exists and will be sourced in a special configuration from an OEM.
Hardware development is therefore 100% completed.
The quoted price includes the AmigaOS 4.x license.
AmigaOS is already running on the device. _________________

Aha, got it. So then when it will broken we just can fix it at any shop. Or even with having already licence for it, we can buy new one somethre else and use it.
That good to hear, really.
And price will be really 300-500$ ? Can't belive that on aos4 market can be adequate prices for HW :)
All what need to know now, is how fast cpu, what gfx card onboard and will it possible to hook up external monitor or not. Even if it will be soething around 600-800mhz for cpu, some not-fast radeonhd (but its still faster than radeon9250, and so, gallium/mesa will works) it will be really cool.
Count me in for sure :)_________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites |
