Maybe it is a speed issue?
Well, I doubt it; this is on my 1000 .

Do you have anything running in your Dock or something like Limpidclock running ?
Well, I did have the CPUInfo and Clock dockies, but I just tried removing them an rebooting. It didn't make any difference.

Best regards,

Niels

Seems to match mine fine. BTW, next time, it would be easier to compare if you used List SORT N .

@nbache

It think that the bookmarks problem may be caused by JXF partitions.
I am using a SFS2 partition.
Just did a clean TW install on a JXF partition and had the bookmarks problem for the first time.

Yes, thats it! Bookmarks work on SFS and don't on JXFS. Have to see other problems...

Thanks!

EDIT: It sill works after exit/reset. Good work Spectre660

@mr2

it seems as though some config written on the first run does not like JXFS.

Edit: the copy does not work.

I've tried running TW from an SFS2 partition and from ram:. I still can't import bookmarks, add bookmarks or paste a URL which makes this release sort of useless for me.

P.S. When I ran TW from a shell (calling the startup script) I get a message in the shell console stating: No protocol handler for scheme mailto.

@Xenic

Try deleting the CurrentUserProfile directory and running again from SFS2.

EDIT: reboot before restarting

@Spectre660

I can add many bookmarks to TW's toolbar easily but after exit/reset only first 3 left.
...but all of them are in Recently Added bookmarks folder
Did you try Bookmarks Toolbar?

SFS\0 here, no JXFS at all. (And I don't believe the difference between SFS\0 and SFS\2 can have any relevance here.)

@nbache

It is strange...I did one more partition (SFS2) and the result is even better.
I have all my bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar now. So for me was like that:

JXFS - no bookmarks at all,
SFS0 - all bookmarks in the menu but only 3 in the bookmarks toolbar,
SFS2 - all b. in the menu and all in the b. toolbar.

Enough testing...waiting for the next beta

@all

PEB has started a TW tip thread on amigans, here's his first tip.

Quote:
If you can't get your Bookmarks to work, install the Add-On called "Super Start 3.6.3" and you can have your main sites readily available when you open a new tab. This add-on is nice and customizable. You can also set it to be your default home.

This worked for me on the x1000, I only get 8 boxes for bookmarks, but its better then nothing for starters. I was able to spend a lot of time using TW after.

Hmm interesting results. Weird the FS changes how the program behaves!

Lets hope that the Freiden brothers have a faster release schedule with bugfixes :)

I thought TW would come out with X1000 and i'm so happy it did! Ive shown a couple of old skool former amiga guys (like a500 and a2000 types) and they were very impressed amiga was able to go online with a modern browser. I couldnt get the one guy off my pegasos lol..

First post from TimberWolf 4.0.1 on my µA1 !!!!!!

It's not nearly as slow as what I was expecting from the comments I've read. It actually seems almost usable already even with the horribly inefficient display refresh that it uses currently ... The scrolling sucks a bit though...

Have you tried the Fasterfox plugin ? .
It seems to help the network speed .

Nope, but I don't really have any problems with speed of loading pages. The speed of the network connection I have here is probably not all that great anyway but it's good enough for my needs anyway.

Something that takes some getting used to with TimberWolf is the menus being inside the browser window. I just keep forgetting this and moving the mouse pointer to the screen title bar and holding down RMB to no effect at all.
