Money isn't a problem for me and the economy would have to fail totally before I noticed it...

It's all just down to me arranging the cruise and getting everything organised so that I could be in the states when Amiwest is on...

When I do get round to it it'll be for 3 months not 3 days, so that I can visit friends & relatives and do some sightseeing...

I'll really need to get round to my long overdue trip to the states before all my friends and relatives over there die of old age and I have to arrange my trip around their funerals instead...

@amigadave

well if you could get "Dr."Ryan to show up,
I'm sure AmiWest could make $ selling
raffle tickets to a wack-a-ryan :(
or Rich Woods/Dr.Ryan with dueling pistols !

No tengo problemas aqui. Una oracion mejor seria, "Mexicanos, vamos a Amiwest".

Keep trying. I did not mean to stop the discussion about getting more people to attend the show, but the discussion about scuffles in pubs did not seem to be getting anyone closer to making up their mind to attend. I might be wrong.

@RobertB

Estoy tratando de recordar mis clases de más de 50 años. ¿No me va tan bien

Better stop this as all text on AW is suppose to be in English. I am just saying that I am trying to remember lessons I took over 50 years ago. Perhaps I am not doing so well. I just wish we had more visitors from south of the border.

We would love to attend this year (every year, actually), unfortunately money is a problem now :( It's a shame, I would have loved to attend the developer sessions.

We were there on 2010 and enjoyed it a lot, it was when the Friedens and Sassenrath and Dale Luck were there... a really nice experience.

Anyway... If all goes well we should return next year :)

Yep that was Dragster & myself :) Only we didn't drive all the way to California, we took a plane to Oakland and drove from there.

I don't remember faces vs nicknames very well so surely we met many who post here, everybody was really nice and I hope to see all of you again next year

Meanwhile, those who are going to attend, do not forget to post comments, photos, videos & reviews!

Regards,
Efren

Funny stuff... yeah, we well miss the show this year due to very particular circumstances... in my case it's partly for economic reasons... I need to clear some debts and that's where the money is going this year.. we will be there next year for sure though.

Looking forward to see the videos, pictures and hear some good news in the Amiga/MOS land.

Cheers,

Dragster

@Dragster & Bender

There you guys are! I did not know that you both attended AmiWest before. I was not there in 2010 so I missed you.

I'll be there this year, but I can't say yet if I'll be there in 2013. The Mayans you know.

Ha! When I first clicked on your link that was supposed to provide the names, or nick names of the two members from Mexico who attended the 2010 AmiWest Show, I looked at the picture of the Frieden brothers at the show and thought to myself, "Number6 thinks the Frieden brothers live in Mexico!"

Then I noticed the author of the article of that page.

Yes, I remember Dragster at the show, but have not seen him posting here much lately. Is he still around? I wonder if he is doing well and would consider attending this year's AmiWest Show?

He's cleverly disguised himself as the same person in post #150 above. Heh.

How did I miss his post just two before mine?

Oh yeah, I took so long writing my post and got distracted before I clicked on the "Submit" button, he had an opportunity to sneak his post into the thread before me and make me look like a fool!

Hello Dragster! Hope to see you at another AmiWest Show soon, if not this year, maybe next.

@All

I'd like to enhance the amiwest.net website with some quotes from folks. Anyone want to give me a quote about a great time you have had at Amiwest or excitement about going this year? Looking for a few sentences with a name to attribute it too.

Thanks!

Well.... My most memorable event from AmiWest 2011 happened in the hallway near the lobby and mistaking Trevor for one of the hotel hosts.

I'll try to work on something for you to quote on the website and PMail or email it to you in a day or three.

Right now, I am considering doing a Kickstarter, so if people think this is a good idea then let me know if they would contribute to it in principle. Basically I will get the design built and tested first and then the kickstarter would be paying for the tooling costs and other potential expenses.

There isn't a lot I would contribute to in Amiga-land but that design is awesome. AROS and Raspberry PI are two of my favourite things at the moment and the thought of uniting them with that case is making be drool.

As for popular appeal I can't really call it but I'd gladly pledge £100 in a heartbeat.
