@mbrantley

I thought that you would be burning rubber by now. I cant wait to see your benchmark results
when you get things going.
I seem to be the only one to have posted anything for HD 5000 and HD6000 series cards so far. But on an unusual configuration

@Spectre660

So you have RadeonHD on a 66Mhz PCI slot?

90MB/sec from 266MB theorethical. Some room for improvement there.
But if the PCI happens to be set 33Mhz, then 90MB/sec is ok.

UPDATE: your PCI to PCIE adapter is running @ 33Mhz, so it's ok (very good even?).
Damn, I should get one of those for my SAM...
http://www.virtuavia.eu/shop/pci-32-bits-1-x-pci-express-adapter-.html

I could free M9 for 3D accelerated games and leave some RadeonHD card for 2D+compositing things!!!
I wonder if the spare GPU RAM could be set to push my SAM to 1.5GB from current 0.5GB ???????!!!!!!!!!!! (at least GFX RAM would be fast enough for swap space)

Here are my results using Radeon HD4650 card 2DGraphisc test

It's not so good, it's slower than mine, probably your graphic card doesn't have ddr3 memory or it's clocked lower than mine, however try to do the test in fullHD 1920x1080@32

@Spectre660

9250 PCI should also work in 66MHz PCI mode. So it should have a lot of faster transfers than PCIe adapter on 33Mhz PCI.

(interesting that writepixel array and normal VRAM writes differ so much)

@KimmoK

His digital have the 5450 PCI version. You can save the 49€ of the converter if the PCI version works on Sam440ep/flex. I saw somewhere the 6000 series PCI version, but can't recall where.

Club-3D have radeon HD pci version too.
Other vendors may have PCI radeon HD version in their catalougue

@klapdeur

So is a higher number a better score, noted the 32 bit score is higher!

@klapdeur

Great that yo have things sorted out.

The fun is if you have any spare HD5000 or HD6000 cards that you can try out.
I have switched from a HD4850 to a HD5670 card and see an 8.33% increase in 2D performance.

@sicky

Yes. The higher number is the better score.
It is important to upload results as Hans uses them for his driver and OS 4.x work.
I am sure that he is looking for more results from the HD5000 and HD6000 series.

@AmigaBlitter
This card looks promising for use in my sam440ep (mini-itx) http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/radeon-hd-5450-pci-noiseless-edition.html But I am not sure if the drivers on offer for purchase support being used on a sam440ep or with a PCI card rather than a PCIe card as used in the x1000 and newer sam's.

@Dwyloc

A 5450 is slower than a 4650, but being PCI would mean it's quite a lot cheaper and easier to get it mated with a sam440. However, if your PCI-PCIe adapter is 33MHz only, then I would really go for the 5450.

And as for support, the 5670 is supported, so wouldn't make a lot of sense to leave out the 5450.
