@Retroman

Sounds good. Any luck getting OS4 to recognize it? This is the main selling point for us imho

Great news!

Confirmed today, the adapter with firmware 2.0 now support Amiga NG under Amiga OS4.1!

This means you can use your old joysticks on your new Amiga.

Cheers!

Nitz

Does JIT help with gaming, now?

@joeled

The adapter works fine with old Amiga joysticks in RunInUae, but when I try to load a "NG" game (i.e. Giana's Return, Aquaria, 1943 Deluxe etc.) I have always a Gream Reaper.

Does it depend from single button joysticks that are incompatible with new games or there's some problem with the adapter?

Have you tried some of these games with your Tac2?

@kyle

I was trying to use sz81 earlier, and got a GR. The stack trace pointed to PCICatweasel.driver. I moved that out of libs:AmigaInput and rebooted, and the GR was gone. Simply unticking the Catweasel driver in AmigaInput Prefs doesn't work for some reason.

I suspect your issue is the same.

Good catch Chris! That is the kind of thing that some of us might not think of until after we have bashed our heads against the wall for a day or two.

@kyle

What kind of GR do you get? The games you are talking about need more than one button joysticks. Gianas Return is working with usb-dapter but i can only use two buttons with my cd32 competition pro. Same goes for Sqrxz1,2,3.

I also moved PCICatweasel.driver out from libs:amigainput.

@joeled

I've removed PCICatweasel.driver and now I can load NG games
Giana's return is playable with 1 button joysticks, other games like Cave story or Hurrican need a 2 button joystick or a joypad.

However I still have some random grim reaper, here a pic of the error (maybe related with usb stack?)

No problem with Giana for me. Pushover is working too.

@joeled

so dose the full CD32 controls work with on the Os4? might have to get one.

Was hoping to find a Cstweasl 4 which I believe also allowed old controllers being attached.

@kyle

Go to AmigaInput and disable all gameports that you don't use, the problem is that is that some games don’t check if the gamepad is connected to the gameport, and so it crashes, I don't like how this implemented but that’s how it is.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Hey Guys!

You might try to update your firmware to 2.1. It's now available on the Retronic Design website: http://www.retronicdesign.com/en/download/

Might fix some issues. Also, are you using the special firmware for CD32 joypad? This one enable the full 7 buttons.

I bought a Logitech Wingman Precision USB joypad and built one of these.

I've tested it under Windows, Linux, and MorphOS, and it works great. I guess it *should* work on Amiga OS 4.x too.

@Retroman

It's real tempting if I can find a original digital joystick.
