| Hi All,
Rather than opening a new topic everytime I have a new article (I apologise for that!), I will just update this topic thread each time I do have an update to avoid people having to trawl through multiple threads.
Today I have written a new blog entry regarding Netspeedometer and NetDock utilities on the X1000. The link is below:
http://amigax1000.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/netspeedometer-and-netdock-on-x1000.html
I hope you enjoy it!

Nice review of both programs! I already had installed Netspeedometer. Now I will give NetDock a try.
I also like seeing screenshots of how other people have their Workbench screen set up. Since Update 6 I can't get my dock bar (which snaps to the right on the bottom) to continue all the way across the screen to the left margin like yours does. Mine stops half way and then starts another line. I hate that! _________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

Thanks for the review!
Keep in mind that the Internet connection speed depends on many things such as: - your Internet provider - visited web sites - your network hardware and driver
Also consider that Internet service providers claim speeds that are only theoretical, that is why in reality one gets values lower than expected.
Greetings from the programmer of NetSpeedometer

Maybe that you should rename your blog as it's not only for x1000 isers but It's useful for every NG users.
A detail, Huno's Frogatto is better with a Warp3d GFX card but it works too with Thellier's wazp3d drivers ( I have tested the 2 setup on my x1000). It's slower, with few sparkling, but playable.
Great blog as usual !

Just thought I'd try NetDock based on Epsilon's blog. However, I must be doing something wrong.
Doesn't matter what I set the Tooltypes to in the icon, when I drag it to the dock I want it on it just stays at the defaults.
For example, I turned on all three bars (left, middle and right), but it still only shows two bars.
It has been a while since I've changed anything in my AmiDock setup, or tried using a docky like this, so I'm quite certain I'm doing something wrong. _________________ This posting, in it's entirety, is the opinion and/or statement of the author and does not reflect the views and/or position of this site. |

I'm glad to hear Frogatto also works and is playable with the wazp3d drivers.
I have to admit since having the dual card hardware warp3d support on the X1000 I haven't been testing wazp3d support for games - mainly since I didn't need to use wazp3d anymore!
Regarding my usual signoff "Catcha", it is a slang word which basically means "catch you later" or "see you later".
Not sure where it came from originally but I have been using it since I started using email way back in 1994 during my University days!
Seems a long time ago now..,Commodore was still around then, and I could see Amiga systems and games in my local department stores, and many Amiga magazines in the newsagent...sigh, those were the days!
I am glad that the widespread use of internet (and Aminet, IRC, etc) came along when it did, and allowed the Amiga community to move on from swap parties, BBS's and Fish disks, and to find each other online. Then they could work on developments and make software releases available globally and keep ongoing developments going, and help each other, even as the large software/hardware companies moved on the greener (more profitable) pastures.
I am so grateful to still be able to regularly try out new software released for AmigaOS4 on my X1000 in 2013 (as I have on other Amigas since the late 1980's) and I am sure you all have a great time with your Amiga systems too - whether based on Classic, MorphOS, AROS or AmigaOS4 variants. (I have all of them, but use my X1000 the most). I also love reading Amiga Future every two months - keep up the great work guys!

is there a decent Excel equivalent on AmigaOS4 to do this kind of benchmark analysis I wonder? |
What about Turbocalc? I use it for pretty much stuff. Works great on MorphOS and should work on OS4, too. Or just use google online spreadsheed application - works with Oddyssey.Last edited by Zylesea on 26-May-2013 at 12:31 PM.
