Something is not working with a fresh install and my Radeon HD 6670 . Works ok if I install an old version using a HD4850 and upgrade the kernel and modules then switch to the HD6670 or a HD5550. I think it has something to do with the Xorg.config stuff. javierdlr got it to work with fresh install and a Radeon HD 6570. It may be that he did not copy my custom xorg.config file which normally done by the installer. I am about to try a version of the installer that leaves the xorg.config out.

This was installed via the same Ubuntu 12.04 installer by doing a base 12.04 install with no gui options selected . Booting the new 12.04LTS installation and then doing a 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS release upgrade. Using sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get dist-upgrade sudo-apt-get install upgrade-manager-core sudo do-release-upgrade -d
rebooting Then adding gui sudo apt-get lubuntu-desktop kde-desktop
had an issue with the login screen so installing gdm may be required sudo apt-get instal gdm
There is some problem with the newer installers after 12.04 were they hang after checking the hard drive partitions so this was the only way to do it

Congratulations. I can start the installation using the Radeon card directly. But unfortunately as soon as I eject the boot CD to insert the alternate CD, the system hangs. I cannot switch to another terminal, or reboot with Ctrl Alt Del. I tried changing the CD at two different times, no change :-/ _________________ Philippe 'Elwood' Ferrucci Sam460 1.10 Ghz AmigaOS 4 betatester Amiga Translator Organisation |

You should be able to eject the boot CD any time before the hardware check.
You can try to install by copying the boot CD contents to a small SFS/00 format bootable partition (2GB). and rebooting. Install menu should be an option on the reboot.
(Am working on same installer for Sam440ep atm so I am giving you a quick solution)

Ok, placing the CD content on a partition it works. I could install but when rebooting, Uboot says it can't find parthenope, but I put it on the HD myself before installing. Then your installation probably removed it somehow :-/
Also, if you make any changes, be sure to submit them for inclusion in the kernel branch or wherever it belongs. I hope this way we'll be able to update the kernel by apt-get update/upgrade and you won't have to spend time for all new release of the kernel. _________________ Philippe 'Elwood' Ferrucci Sam460 1.10 Ghz AmigaOS 4 betatester Amiga Translator Organisation |

The installer does not install or remove pathenope. For the Sam460ex Apart from the kernel configuration , especially the graphics section, there are two patches that I applied. One a manual patch re the SM02 which I got from Virgola's website. The other one re DRM I found on this thread and have included on the ISO's
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dri-devel/2013-September/045050.html
For the Sam440ep the one pacth that I applied re the load address of the kerenl came from the Cruxppc distribution. and is also included on the Sam440ep ISO's

it can't be, as I had to install it on the HD to boot on the SFS0 partition I just created! :-/ And I could boot so it was installed for sure. Well, I'll test again.
About the CD ejection, I tried again and it works if I type "eject /cdrom" in a terminal. This is when I removed the CD directly pushing the eject button on the drive that the system got locked up
