Thanks for the mostly positive comments about our acquisition of Amiga.org.

I thought that I had clearly explained our logical reasons for acquiring the website, like the really cool logo that includes all the iconic Amiga images, the branding etc, (business speak), etc

but, on my part there were "illogical" ones as well.

As an Amigaholic I thought it would be really cool to be associated with an Amiga webforum which dates back to and had approval from the original Commodore company (OK they were on their last legs at the time) but 20 years later and Amiga.org is still around.

I hope it works out for you!

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

@TrevorDick

Nah, You only made those logical reasons to justify your illogical desires.

"It doesnt have to make sense, as long as its fun"

I have been a part of the 'great exodus' during MikeBs move to aw.net.

a.org was just littered with too many flamewars and personal insults at the time.

Haven't been at a.org often, so I don't know what happened during past couple of years, but I hope that Trevor and Mathew will help that board to thrive again.

Best of luck to you guys.

That is because they did not "need" to obtain Amiga.org and its logos "for their business", but it certainly won't hurt their business to "support & expand the Amiga community".

True, but adding A-Eon or Amiga.org to the 3 logos now on both mousemats and coffee mugs is a clear connection to business promotion to me. Is it really that different than what Hi-Toro did in order to raise awareness?

Whether one recognizes the checkmark, the wordmark, or the boing ball, it then leads to A-Eon. That reads as "here is whom to contact for further information".

If you go back and read post 79 it's clear that one of the reasons for a-eon acquiring A.org was it's logo, and really so what!
