@sundown

Fight, it hasn't even been established that there is one.
We are still waiting for Manu to prove I "attacked AROS".

Don't believe me? Look out of the window. A few guys on here have been PM'ing and it seems your fundamental Christian views are cause for concern. There was talk of police and by all accounts they have been called and take anything staunch religious very seriously nowadays. Not sure but if you announce there is a chance that God doesn't exist and throw in a few praises of the alternatives to OS4, I may ask the guys to withdraw their complaint.

It a free country dude. You got a problem PM all you want. It's surely a better place for you to air your grievances than a forum which has nothing to do with religion. You gotta problem with God and Bible based Christianity then by all means cry to the Mods, however I don't see it of primary importance here to this thread about Hyperion. I guess you gotta cry to someone?

Not really debating.
See posts 1197 and 1246.

It went a bit downhill after that.

I have to say, as a atheist, you are way out of line, abusing someone because of their religion, in a non reliigious thread (or even as religious anything goes thread for that matter) is just not acceptable, please sober up and come back when your hang over has gone.

@TiredofLife

As part of the problem (got mad first) i feel the need to remind that the opinions that i wrote here are MINE and not shared by the rest of the community so people go mad back at me not at others.

It's ok, we can all get worked up at times.
The thing to do is recognise it and calm down as you have done.
Others would do well to follow your example.

I would never blame the actions of a few on a whole community in any case.

Cheers

@broadblues

I am not drunk just bored. BigD isn't really being watched or going to prison. He is a nut but most of us on here are.

Oh and religious connotation does not command any more or less respect than someone's choice in music or political party or ice cream flavour. So if you think I overstepped the mark if I was abusing his taste in Duran Duran then I am sorry but if you hold religion up on a pedestal, on a similar level to race, then I have nothing to be sorry for.

@A1200

Firstly, the posts being made by you right now are way off topic in here - and secondly, there really isn't any need for the language or tone used.

You have no love for OS4 (which you do make quite clear), but you really don't have to behave in the manner you do. The site caters for all Amiga users (OS1.x to 4.x, MorphOS and AROS).

You have managed to earn a time out from posting.

@thread

From The Book of Paula

"And yay behold I heard the sound of trumpets and unto them descended dark times
upon dark steeds the four horsemen of the bankruptocalips arriveth
each carried upon them a book and on each book there was written in blood
each with the name of the laws of Belgium and in each of their tongues

From these tomes the horsemen spoketh their incantations
and with these hexes shall the wicked be purged and purified
no longer shall there be sects and clans among their peoples
no longer shall there be cause for hatred as their time will end"

Well, I used "AmigaOS" as it is shorter and has same meaning as "Amiga OS".

For how people described it, i expected it to have a directory tree with usual C,S,Libs,Devs, etc. as an Amiga-like os - or maybe i misunderstood them

No, nothing like that -- the directory structure and commands are classic Unix, for better or worse. It has a hybrid kernel with some message passing in the upper levels, but that is the extent of the Amiga influence. It is also reasonably small and light, and very fast.

I think the thing that's the most un-Amiga like with Unix and Linux is X11. It is poles apart from Intuition, and the thing that wrecks the user experience the most, IMO. And I'm not really sure that Wayland is going to fix this.
