This thread is what happens with nothing is happening. It's what happens when there's no real information about anything. I thought the words "rushed release" regarding anything Amiga was highly amusing. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++ |

Interesting to note Hyperions' financial year ends December, which might explain the timing of 4.1FE's apparently rushed release.

Yeah, nothing todo with the international festival of commerce and consumption that roughly cooincides with the a certain Christain festival.

Most of you are looking at this either very pessimistically or very optimistically. The more realistic take-away from this experience is that Hyperion Entertainment CVBA is not in a stable financial situation. |
Yes, I think that is probably an accurate appraisal of the situation. Bad news in the not too distant future, but not today or next week.

Oh dear, well that's what you get when you abuse "freedom of speach" a sad thing at the amiga level and true at the real life level, trolls and spammers erode the freedom of people with something decent to say.

Moobunny was interesting social experiment. And miserable failure. How sad.
You may raise every point in any Amiga forum. Yust be polite to others, that is all.
Note: There is even off-frontpage Amiga.Inc related Amiga Inc. offshoot about any "products" from our parent company. Last edited by pavlor on 04-Apr-2015 at 05:08 PM.

| What is the point in posting anything that will get 5 negative and 10 posts treating you as enemy of state ?
I try to be polite in all my posts no matter where I post them ...
On the side note I don't think my freedom of speech is disturbed in any way by moderation if I don't own the site ...

Unfortunately discussing certain topics here mean you get overrun by hordes of certain trolls. Last edited by itix on 04-Apr-2015 at 08:28 PM.

You know you are a successful games platform when there is so much junk released on it. So many games that are just like others but with a different skin. So many quick adaptations and ports to cash in on the cinema or TV successes without any thought given to include something different, e.g. Aladdin, The Lion King. etc.
I know the Amiga was an excellent 2D platformer hardware platform but come on; Aladdin should have been more like Prince of Persia, and The Lion King could have switched to some top down views like in SWIV, maybe even have some two player action where one person controls Simba and the other controls Zazu.

Speaking of movies being turned into Amiga games, is there a quintessentially Amiga game anyone would like to see as a movie or a TV series?
Wings probably has the strongest narrative and I'm kind of surprised Lemmings isn't an animated series by now.

Thats too bad because both those things you said are true. BTW just because you choose to believe its true doesnt change the FACT it is. |

I respect you and you are a legend in the community but you have to understand that we arent "happy" about hyperion going broke, we were "happy" becuase we thought maybe it would break their death grip on the Amiga name and we would actually have a chance of some new hope and/or progress. But nope, the death spiral will continue and we will get more lies and false promises.. *cough* Articia S * cough* Snap Drivers umm i mean Gallium ** cough* SMP** coughMorphos is stolen cough cough** how pathetic |

You know how they're turning everything into a musical, I think that before someone does Steve Jobs Superstar we should do
Amiga - The Only Computer Worth Singing About
Here's how it would go:
The Big Opening Song This song is about the PC and the TV gaming revolution of the late '70s and early '80s Apple, Commodore, Tandy, Atari, etc. Lots of chip tunes. The song gets busier and busier and the crescendo collapses as our protagonist Jay Miner and cohorts proclaim they are leaving Atari to start their own company. - The Hi-Torro Song Also known as the "Something big, we're working on" song. It's a soft march-like anthem that is an homage to the startup spirit. - Amiga Trinkets and Tricks Songs A ditty about the joysticks and joypad produced by Amiga Corp performed in a similar style to My Favourite Things. - Running Out of Money Song Performed by the Amiga Corp. singers each with their own concerns song in crossover harmony with the others. A common word in their lyrics being Atari; One sings maybe we should ask Atari, another sings maybe someone other than Atari, and Jay sings I will never go back to Atari. The song ends with all of them singing we are going to Atari. - The Hi-Torro Song Reprise A reprise of the "Something big, we are working on" song performed by the Amiga Corp. singers. - Intertwined with - Running Out of Ideas Song Here we see Tramiel of the new Atari and Gould of Commodore singing each their own verses of "Something big, we need to move on". - The Coup Song A typical '80s pop song celebrating the purchase of Amiga Corp. by Commodore, and at the same time sticking it to Atari. - The Rapid Development Blues Song The rush to get the new Amiga computer released. Ends with everyone (including the dog) signing the inside of the Amiga 1000 case. - The Launch Song A Deborah Harry style '80s pop-rock song with the stage alight with glorious animation and Warhol-esque colour. Bouncing red & white checkered beach balls everywhere. - - INTERMISSION / INTERVAL - - Fighting the ST Song Similar in vain to the Rocky "Gonna Fly Now" theme. It seems that history was setting itself to be repeated with Commodore's agenda for the Amiga being to battle the Atari ST. - The German Engineering Song A lighthearted song about just getting on with the work and not getting bogged down with revenge and corporate politics. A little like Heigh-Ho and Whistle While You Work. An '80s modern ballet piece showing the development of the A2000 and the A500. - The Hi-Torro Secret Song A re-interpretation of the "Something big, we're working on" song performed separately by Dave Haynie and Carl Sassenrath. - The Products v Innovation Song This is the culture clash song of Commodore management and the Amiga engineers. The West Side Story style Sharks v Jets song ends with the release of the Amiga 3000. - The Hi-Torro Secret Song Reprise The battle may be lost but not the war. Dave and Carl continue work on their respective goals. - Running Out of Money Song Reprise Performed by Commodore management. Song ends with Commodore management telling Dave to come up with an incremental improvement to ECS. - Amiga Trinkets and Tricks Song Reprise Release of AGA hardware and OS 3.0 Up-beat version performed by Commodore management, Down-beat version performed by Amiga engineers as they release the CD32. - One Door Closes Song The Commodore bankruptcy. Performed by the Amiga Engineers - Leads into The Grand Finale Song Also known as the "Something big, we gave to the world" song where it is like a Live Aid style celebration of all the trends the Amiga kicked off.
