I didn' t mean to insult, I many times stated that all Amiga derived systems are interesting.
I didn' t attack other people as you said, perhaps I was attacked, see itix tone.

we all should calm down
Please do not try to make others look bad or as fools because that really makes a very bad impression
I am just trying to find the reason why you are in war with him since last 10 pages. Because cdimauro has talked negative about X1000? When he is wrong you could proof it point by point but not on personal level or saying he is a idiot. Last edited by OlafS25 on 06-Mar-2015 at 02:45 PM.

Anyway, do you plan to update the OS4 Blender port to use Altivec also for the raytracing? It should give a huge performance boost.
|
Well it's not a mater of just updating the altivec bits as they apply to a much later branch of blender than the AmigaOS 4 port.
My original plan was to 'wait for gallium' before porting a later version as blender uses progressively more and more gfx card stuff ,shaders etc in the later versions. I didn't see the point of bumping the version number then disabling half the new features. Python 3 is also a dependency, and whilst Icould do a custom port ( I already did one of 2.6 during my blender 2.49 port, to get things working temporarily while I got my head round the shared object dynamic linking code (which wasn't working due to stupid makefile option mistake on my part that took an age to find)) I'd prefer to use a 'official' version of python 3 as that gets much greater intergration with arexx etc. So the shortened version of that is , yes , when I upgrade blender I will naturaly add the altivec code, but at the moment it's not relavant to teh 2.48/9 version. (I refer to 2.48/9 as OS4 blender is based on a snapshot somewhere between those two, nearer 2.49)
I'm heavily commited to another project at the moment, so even if I decide not to wait for gallium any more, it wont be coming out tomorrow...
|
Absolutely, it makes sense. If Blender is able to offload its raytracing calculations to the GPU, the boost will be much better than compared to the improvements that can come using Altivec. It's better to wait for Gallium (and Python 3, if it's needed too, as it seems). |

Summarising your projects we talked about :
1) Fightin' Spirit - You are not credited of any programming, although you claim you coded the core engine (sort of). 2) USA Racing - Abandoned, no public footprints exist. 3) Tina - Abandoned.
Hopefully you get better luck on AROS and get something completed, perhaps released too, I am happy you focus on AROS rather than OS4 actually
Fightin' Spirit is a cool title by the way.
|
We already discussed the SAME things, and I'll not do it again only because you slept bad this night, and today you restarted again completely ignoring what I (and you too! "never mind", remember?) have written.
Your purpose is clearly to discredit me in some way to "invalidate" what I said, because you don't like it.
There are at least 4 logical fallacies for your behavior:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_the_well https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appeal_to_accomplishment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
As others have already stated, your bad attitude against me is because you don't like what I've written. But, again, you're free to "counter-attack" replying point-to-point to my writings. Comments on my articles are open and free (unless if they are against the current Italians law or contains insults/offenses: ONLY in these cases they are moderated/edited), and I received A LOT of them.
Apart this, I find your behavior really childish. The "measure your penis" battle is something which happens in the middle school age, and which supposedly mature people should have surpassed.
Anyway, if you still like such game, you can take a look at my Linked-in profile to see what I made, and you should try to get at least a junior engineer position on a company of comparable size and prestige, before asking again what I've made...
Grazie

No need to be offensive like this. Fortunately I don' t make photocopies in some international enterprise (size and prestige), I am self-employed and run my own business in software engineering and I was junior some 20 years ago more or less.
Sorry you provoked my answer now and often before.

All the more reason to open source AmigaOS once and for all and let the open source community continue it's development. yes, but it is impossible. so the only option left to secure the position is to support open source where everything else fails. |

considering what you may mean as "surrent systems" (your winuae?) as long as they last, in which case genuine amiga is rather likely to keep their share of users, while os4 systems will die one by one as we are witnessing now.. |

Probably. However, that certainly doesn´t meany any greater future support for YOUR open source solution. |

You guys are talking about Gallium., thats a good one as if its ever really going to happen. Just like those "Snap drivers" they were supposed to do years ago.. and that video game hyperion released cool screenshots of.. its a joke.
imo the best approach is to develop for the current setup as I dont see much future development happening and if so, really slow. |
