@amigang

Hey amigang,

It was great to meet you in person! It was a lot of effort from so many to get the event put together. Can never thank them all enough.

Little peak inside: We blew one head gasket, punctured one oil pan, one car ran out of gas, and a tailer blew a tire.

Even with the minor troubles everyone would do it again in a heartbeat!

I want to call out two of the items in the gallery. First is the art of Jubi. I found his art on Deviant Art and was amazing by his skill. He was very kind by providing us high resolution versions to print and post in the gallery. You can see his work here Amazing work with Blender!

The second is the "Ark of the Amiga" by Lostman. Some may remember him from IRC and the forums. As an artist he wanted to give back to the Amiga Community by producing a unique piece of art. He calls it the Ark of the Amiga and it's built from a floppy drive case. His hope is that his work will inspire other makers to build other tributes to the Amiga.

I'm still amazed how well everything came together.

Kickstarters will get an update shortly about the status of their perks. We will also be opening up a web store to sell some of our excess inventory from the show.

Cheers,
Bill "tekmage" Borsari

@tekmage

The Amiga community owes you a debt of gratitude for organising this along with the hard work, financial burden and stress of organising such a large event. Thank you.

It is written that OS4 uses part of Aros don't think it is right. Nice read though.

It may be true (parts of components used also in 3.9 release), but OS4 developers explicitly say there is no AROS code in OS4.

@pavlor

Given how intentionally vague Cloanto has been with their statements since February, I found this one amusing:

Quote:
as well as a coexistence agreement with Amiga Inc. for the "Amiga" registered trademark.

@pavlor

Stephan Rupprecht did the color wheel for both 3.9 and 4.0

http://aminet.net/package/dev/gui/ColorWheel

So the chances of AROS code not tainting 4.0+ is pretty slim no matter what has been said in public. ;)
