| Yeah, any happy developments to report on Final Writer update and porting project(s)? I am more than happy to beta-test any AOS3 or AOS4 version now or in future, on a variety of hardware, classic, FPGA and NG.
Using old Final Writer 97 very well on X1000 with a laserprinter.

Yup, doing the same on my V600, altho Im transfering files via the excellent googledrive.
Really looking forward to a updated AOS version, altho I fully understand these things take a whole lot of time when doing it on spare time |

Soon to be 22 years. Is there any headway being made on this project?

After all this screenshots I thought we could have a working Finalwriter version for AROS x86 in less than a year.
AOS3, AOS4 or MOS users might prefer a version with some new features, but AROS users would be glad if they had a reliable working text processor. |

Hopefully I will be able to announce something soon. But I'm being a bit more reserved after all the delays.

I would be willing to pay for an OS4 native version of Final Writer. I already have it installed on my SAM460 but an OS4 native version word be great. _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card. |

Certain things needed to be replaced no matter what. The final piece is being worked on now. :)

Looking great! Just pitching in my support, since I’m new here. Final Writer really was my tool of trade back in the days, but the simple RTF export couldn’t handle format templates. It became a real headache for both me and my customers, so I inevitably had to switch to Microsoft Word, eventually abandoning the Amiga altogether.
From what people are willing to pay, it seems most would probably use Final Writer for a handful of business letters or the occasional flyer. I know there are lots of cheap/free options out there, especially on other platforms, but I’d say a new productivity software should be respectfully priced at a somewhat higher level. If I remember correctly I purchased a fully localised (into Swedish) copy of Final Writer 97, back in 1997, for about $150. Apparently, though, you wouldn’t be able to sell as many copies with such a hefty price tag.
Having said that, I’ve yet to buy a machine that can (once again) run Final Writer natively... |

Of course. Just paid 69 EUR for the CD-ROM version of DigiBooster 3, which I consider moderately priced. I'll gladly pay more for an OS4-native version of FinalWriter.
