Current improvements.
Localization: FinalWriter no longer has the languages hard coded in so it's merely a matter of creating catalog files for each language. :)
Clipart: We now support Datatypes.
Fonts: Updated to support Truetype fonts
SpellChecker: Support for OpenOffice,Aspell,hunspell dictionaries(W.I.P.)
File formats: Updated RTF to the final spec, PDF support.
And of course as always I have every intention of supporting all Amiga like OSes.

Great work, as mentioned a native OS4 version we/I would easily pay for. Of course classic version just as valuable(duel licensing/discount) What is slowing down progress by the way, maybe we need a dedicated crowd funding to speed things up? |

A late comer to the thread but I would like to echo some of the previous comments about updating it for 68k machines first. The 68k machines are still very capable and still have a solid user base, I would for sure love an updated word processor for my A1200 - currently using Wordworth 5 I obtained from eBay some time ago. I think given that there has been no up to date word processor released for the classic Amiga for over a decade now, it would be warmly received by the Amiga community. I understand the constraints of catering for all 68k machines, so I think people would understand if the minimum requirement was a 68020 or above.
I would also like to have the software to have some up-to-date features including (obviously) compatibility with the latest version of Microsoft Word files, PDF file handling etc. Not essential but a nice touch would be some modern printer drivers.
Now for the software iteself... I think a floppy version would be nice, or at the very least a downloadable .lha archive. Given these features are implemented and presented professionally I cannot see any reason why any decent Amiga user would not wish to part with £50 for a solid product as a physical release on floppy with a manual, or £35 for a download.
Edit: I see you have already added PDF support and TrueType fonts! Excellent work!

I'm also ready to pay for a native OS4 version. Terminalhills, any ETA at all for it? Do you need beta testers? _________________ AmigaOne X1000 owner |

I would pay for an OS4 version. Maybe it is worth thinking about a subscription model like many other platforms do.
Or a mixed model: Subscription for the ones wanting updates, or waiting 3-4 years for a version upgrade for the one-time payers.. |

I am afraid the subscription model won't work on the Amiga platform unless the software is so good that you can use it daily and profesionally. Otherwise paying a regular subscription fee can hardly be justified.
IMHO a more viable model is paid updates, where the price of the update is kept at a reasonable level.

The only reason anybody would want this is if it had full MS support. BTW did you finish the printer drivers for NG? |

The MS Support in the FW Versions I knew was very limited, I don't think it can be a big help there.
There are some reasons why a new version of FW would make sense:
1. Better compatibility with non 68k Amiga like systems (AOS4, MOS) 2. First full working text processor for non 68k compatible Amiga like systems (AROS) 3. Bigger documents and higher speeds than the old 68k version. 4. Possible bug fixes. 5. Hopes for some new features in the next versions. .... Last: Support of the few Amiga software project still existing. |

That's not true. I would want this even without full MS support. I wrote a whole couple of novels in Final Writer 97 several years ago and preferred using it to MS Word. An Amiga with Final Writer makes a great distraction free writing environment. Plus, Final Writer has some very handy features like being able to have a tab for each chapter and I loved the way the builtin thesaurus worked. Even at that time, it's RTF support was quite good and I was able to export to RTF so I could do editing on my work computer and later load it back into Final Writer without losing any formatting.Last edited by mpiva on 06-Jun-2019 at 06:22 PM.

If I want MS support I turn on my Windows machine, but importing MS documents is handy. Although .txt files is also oke.
Why putting energy to make it do what MS can do ?
- Features like mailing your file from Final Writer e.g. would be usefull or importing from Amiga spreadsheets.

I'd be willing to pay £50 for an OS4native version with .Doc support. _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card. |

Sounds interesting.
I'm willing to pay ~200€ for a bundle for all NG-platforms. I don't care much about MS-office support, but if it's rock solid and the PDF-export is 100%, then I'm in.

Out of curiosity: is the PDF support achieved using Haru, or Poppler?

Funny I paid $20,000 without full MS support. :P And as far as printer drivers go it was announced 2 years ago I gave away my work. :)_________________ Support AROS sponsor a developer.
