I've got a Polaroid k/b it doesn't work with.

I've now tried direct into the motherboard.
Normally it pluigs into a KVM switch 1st.

The first press of the keyboard is now recognised but then nothing after that.

Tried a Hyundai k/b with exactly the same results.

Been absent from my Amiga for the last few weeks (been watching the entire series of Breaking Bad - awesome btw) - this update fills me with dread. Keyboard and mouse support has always been dodgy on the SAM460.. I get the impression from this thread that it has just got worse! I certainly won't be paying (! - a sore topic in itself that could fill an entire thread) until I hear positive news.

@m3x

First off, thank you. I received the eeprom today. I really appreciate how your company takes care of its customers.

After putting the eeprom in my SAM460ex lite, my keyboard was not recognized. I expected it after reading this thread. I tried another keyboard without success. Again, I expected problems since both keyboards are PS/2 connected via a blue block PS/2 to USB adapter. What I did not expect was U-Boot not finding any FLB or SLB on any drive.

After trying a little troubleshooting, I found the problem. The new U-Boot does not recognize my ARC1-152-C7 PCI riser card. When I plugged my sil3114 card directly into the PCI slot, my SAM460ex Lite booted up Workbench. Both keyboards work fine under Workbench (typing on the HP KB-0133).

In the next few days, I'll be shopping for a USB keyboard. For anyone interested, the following keyboards do not work with the new U-Boot.

1. Unicomp (IBM clicky) PS/2 with blue block USB adapter.
2. HP KB-0133 PS/2

My question is, what USB keyboards are reported as working? For what features should I be looking?

Thank you,

@Drewlio77

Thanks!!!

Following your instructions, I finally got it to work.

In my case I didn't have to log into Paypal first.

I guess that old adage, 'If at first you don't succeed, try, try again', works.
Although in this case it's more like 'try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, ..., again.

I went through the shopping cart purchase options and hit next many times. I have done this before but this time I hit refresh after the blank acube payment authorization page appeared. Though I did not see the confirmation from acube's web site (just a blank page), I did receive the confirmation via email from acube and Paypal shortly after. In the mail you get the link for the download (3 times max downloads).

It is random if it works so be patient.

@Drewlio77 et al.,

So what models of USB keyboards (wireless or wired) are working with the 2015 Das U-Boot? Let's compile a list.

@PhantomInterrogative

My keyboard is an Adesso WKB-3100UB. It also has a small trackball. The keyboard is compact and works great, even more reliable since the update. Before the update it wouldn't show up after boot from time to time.

Really wanting to buy and use this. Please let me know when the bug-fix is available, as losing my keyboard is a rather severe bug!

@All

so, i have purchased a new ssd drive and a new Radeon 7750.. started just to check if all was working, and it did. So i have bought this firmware update and want to update the rom, since i have a new ssd disk with no AOSFE on it, i plan to install this after the firmware update.

my question is this, on the manual it says this:

AmigaOS 4.1 users, before upgrading the Sam460 firmware check if the EHCI driver is
loaded and working.

does AOS4.1FE boot cd activate EHCI driver, so updating the firmware is possible before installing OS ?

thanks

Edit: looks like i install FE before updating firmware!

@noXLar

The EHCI driver should be enabled by default for OS 4.1 update 6 and OS 4.1 FE .
The warning would be for those who tend to tamper with default settings

Considering all the hassle people have with USB keyboards and mouse, there is no wonder people tamper with EHCI settings.

@thread

Before anyone else says something bad about Acube for the keyboard issue, do a Google search for "BIOS not recognizing USB keyboard." You will find that people upgrading their PC BIOS sometimes don't have keyboard at bootup.

I'll give Acube a little slack on this one. Even though I don't have keyboard usage at boot time, the upgrade is worth the money. I no longer have issues with the mouse or keyboard not being recognized once Workbench pops up (a more serious issue than not being able to use them at boot). That in itself makes the upgrade valuable enough for me to pay for it.

If you want to make sure your keyboard will work, wait for the update on which Acube is working. Remember, part of being an Amigan is being patient.
