@Chain-Q

Their PDF says;

Quote:
I send back to ACube Systems my copy of AmigaOS software in its original form (plastic wrap intact) and will receive a refund of 48 Euros (any extra fee will be charged to me).

48 Euros is more like £35! So what are you going to spend your £35 on?

No, I was just pointing out promoting OS4 in an anti-OS4-like thread. I did see your point about practising what you preach.

Okay then yes I seriously think BigD has contributed more than someone who posts things like "OS4 is crap. MOS is crap. AROS is crap. NG machines... Are crap. Get a life." Even if BigD made his point and then kept coming back to sharpen it.

@Hypex

This thread was about someone wanting to buy something from Acube but is not interested in a OS that is bundled with it. It is against EU law and is corrected now so the thread would have stopped there.

Then BigD (Defender of the faith) suddenly jumped in and insulting lots of people asking them to do something he himself refuses to do. Then you say "BigD" has contributed more than others what I really not understand. He has not contributed more than "cheap talk", not only in this thread but general. Or do you see something he has done?

And at least in this thread noone said "OS4 is crap" (with other phrases BigD certainly would have no problem). Can you point me to someone? Except that presence of certain people already seem to provoke BigD.

Is that Amiga incompatible SAM card even capable of emulate an Amiga? By looking at the technical specifications it's almost like going 15 years back in time.

No comment.

Well, 460EX performance is comparable to Pentium III class CPU, so your comparison is valid (more precise, it would be close to 13 years in same price league).

I will add 1 more Euro to it, and register MorphOS.

Yes.

Yes, if you are not very picky?

I think I hear some very heavy sound stuttering on an Amiga 500 demo?

Here is the HD version but not sure how it works on Hyperion AmigaDOS, do you have to install the real Commodore AmigaDOS in E-UAE to run the HD version?

@Hillbillylitre

Installation of RunInUAE (and relevant files) is part of initial OS isnstallation, you don´t have to install older OS version in UAE yourself.

Yes I could ascertain what the thread was about and do agree once the problem was solved no further discussion is needed. When I said "like" I didn't mean "just like" but of a similar tone and I wasn't restricting that to this thread but including other threads on the forum. Around post 48 things took a change which didn't look relevant to me.

I thought I was extremely stubborn when I used the Amiga as main machine until 2004?

Then why did you stop? And what were you forced to convert too, PC or Mac? Actually it was in 2004 I had to give up my A1200. I'd spent $2,500 AU on it all up and all I had to show for it was AGA, an 030 @ 40Mhz and a SCSI drive case with a CDROM and a few 2nd hand SCSI HD drives.

So I replaced it with an AmigaOne! For $2,000 AU I got a case, KB + M, DVD, HD, monitor, mobo, RTG, RTA, all in one working computer that I got AmigaOS4 PR with! It was bought ten years after my A1200, cost me less and I got more with it. You don't see that anymore.

The Sam460 is a reasonable machine but I doubt it is as good value for money as the original AmigaOne-XE was nor the Pegasos machines which were even better value for money. Going by power-to-era ratio.

Nah, I didn't convert from Commodore Amiga to AmigaOne or Pegasos. I realized or knew like most people already in the nineties there were no chance to keep up with the computer future. I had access to all types of Mac and PCs as secondary computers at school, work and friends, could easily see where this were going even before Commodore declared bankruptcy...

I stopped or raised the trophy because I wanted to be the last man standing in my local community who used an Amiga computer as the main computer... And that its a nice computer for its time of course.

Nothing forced me to stop, was more forced to use it, by my own will...
