@Tomppeli
For a Sam you would need a full size version which is too expensive in small numbers.
The case could hold other arm socs and pico itx boards.

@phoenixkonsole

It probably looks nicer the smaller it is anyway.

Have you seen the Walker Revisited design sketches Loriano did about ten years ago?

@Rob

Those were great looking compared to the original. He should dump the diskdrives in the center and replace them with two boing balls looking like an owl's eyes...now that would be cool I think.

So that's the explanation. Can Minimig fit inside ?

@Tomppeli
The 120x120mm version would fit. I could adapt the bottom part.

Personally I believe a raspberry pi 2 would offer more. Uae4all is is getting a JIT enabled core.

The typewriter design for A500/600/1200/C64/128 is fine and universally acceptable, same with a 19" cuboid box stereo design or any cuboids-shaped design like loudspeakers, but this Walker belong in a baby room, or jusst for nostalgic reasons or just plain scary.

Who the heck came with such a horrible design anyways?

+1
Never liked the walker either. Plain ugly, and unpractical.

I'd be more into something like the Armiga:

but the floppy version

Hmm.. Impractical.. Those small cases are the most impractical you can think of : )
Everything attached via USB ... Cables dangling around... The floppy version makes at least sense.

I will go the pi-top route and modify it to a keyboard computer. Calling it the ArmigaOne

@Panthro

Many people have said the Walker is like a half of a barrel. I have seen a picture which was going to go to magazines as an ad where a couple of lines were drawn to the picture to give image of a telescope pipe part of a vacuum cleaner to give an idea like the computer was a vacuum cleaner.

The idea behind CDTV and Walker was to make computers as part of standard home appliances instead of being scary gray boxes with flashing leds and noisy fans.

Looking at Walker nowadays it looks a little bit like a saddle making you to want to sit on top of it.

True, and cables in all directions, not just one, even more impractical. But it's small. Doesn't occupy lots of desk/floor space (hidden behind the TV?) and can be put away in very little space, cables disconnected and rolled up. Now your design was smaller than the original as well I read, so that's nice. The original walker was just a total space hogger

If the design choice is good enough for Apple, everyone should be happy about it!

Also, if you're targeting Amiga users, some would probably like usable 9pin joystick interfaces. Either via some USB converter, or perhaps wired directly to Raspberry Pi.

@phoenixkonsole
Klaus Schwägerl apparently owns the rights to the walker design so be careful.

@amigang
Thank you very much ; )

Small change:
The W4LK3R will be the Walker

I had asked Petro about the rights and he told me that the guy behind it is not interested in licensing it...

Well... this was false. Details will follow. Happy joy joy : D

the Raspberry Pi sits in the bottom. The shown one is the low-cost version.
I will offer a modified version of the bottom which holds a Keyrah V2.

All in all I plan to offer a configurator which let's you combine available stacks with different versions of the top and bottom part.

Whatever due to the small market they will be only available in a limited number.

Has it finally fixed the issues with the joystick interfaces? Due to lag, they're practically useless for anything but some non-realtime games on V1, which was advertised with text

The joystick ports show a special strength of Keyrah: The high data transfer speed. For the full gaming fun, Keyrah transfers its data ten times faster than some USB joysticks do!

(I seriously don't want to try the joysticks that are even slower...)

@Jupp3
I have seen some videos where it looked ok to me.
Was this a problem with v1 or v2?
Is there a existing alternative if you just wan't to use joysticks and mouse ?

Edit:
Yes,

@amiga.org thread
It is planned to produce up to 400 cases (limiting it)
Material is PLA and they are handmade in cooperation with a friend called 3d printer.
The quality is fine because the layers are only 0.05mm thick . I will prepare the surface with chemicals to give it a perfect look if needed. The chemical vaporizes and there is no health risk for you( I wear a mask)

The images I've posted are not created in a freestyle 3d modeler but a 3d cad system called Solid Edge.
It is a assembly consisting of printable components.

I plan to offer multiple versions of the top and bottom part.
For example no 2.8" touchscreen but a 3.5" slot with cover for a USB/sd-card/cf card slot (only short devices would fit because of the small depth.)
The bottom could offer to 9-pin ports and so on.
You will be able to chooses from those variants.

I will upload a drawing with dimensions so you get a better feeling how mini it is.

I will not produce cases in advance.
