The FPS are limited to the displays vertical refresh rate (i.e. 60 fps). Please turn off the vblank_mode.

Seems like "I want a fast and light weight browser I can use remotely" is the starting condition for ANY and ALL browser implementations.

Patches for the Cyrus board were already posted by Andy Fleming on the linuxppc-dev mailing list and thus official support will likely show up with v4.4 of the Linux kernel. So everything seems to be there to build a kernel on your own. Then somebody just has to replace the X1000 kernel with the Cyrus kernel on the X1000 Ubuntu install CD and it should work.Last edited by Geri on 15-Sep-2015 at 03:30 PM.

Xeno74 doesn't have any Cyrus hardware, so his ability to answer that question is limited. I am the individual responsible for getting mainline support for Cyrus into 4.x (I hired him), and I have builds of 4.2 and 4.3 that work fine (though the on-board Ethernet support doesn't, as that driver hasn't been passed into mainline, yet).
If you let me know which Radeon graphics card you have in your machine, depending on the card, I can provide you with a build. |

Hi All,
Today I successfully updated ubuntu MATE 15.10 PowerPC on my X1000. There were a lot of updates. For example the new Firefox 40.0.3.
Srtest has also successfully updated Lubuntu 15.10 PowerPC on his X1000 today. There were also a lot of updates. For example the new Firefox 40.0.3 too. He tested successfully the new Mesa 11 with the patched r600.so from the unofficial Mesa package today.
Quote Srtest:
Quote:
*** UPDATE: FIREFOX 40.0.3 out for Lubuntu on power platforms! according to the hype it supposed to have special Linux features about multi-threading browsing.
Check out the GLXgears results they are pretty good. Everything works if you replace just the "r600.so".
|
Note: Firefox 40.0.3 is only available for all Ubuntu 15.10 flavors currently.
It isn't available yet for:
A-EON Live Remix distribution All Ubuntu 12.04.5 flavors All Ubuntu 15.04 flavors All Ubuntu 14.04 flavors
Cheers,
Christian
