You keep referring to a pretty outdated PC when talking about ppc emulation speed, which isn't representative of the full picture. |
1st This is PC I have right there and can benchmark. 2th My result in this thread point to relative slowness of current FPGA in comparison to emulation (emulation under emulation to be more precise). 3rd Judging by SPEC CPU2006 benchmarks, single core performance increased only 2x in comparison to computer I use for benchmarks. |

AmigaAMP in 15Khz automatic decodes 1/2 frequencies. In addition in video, the sound crackles. _________________ A1200 BlizzardPPC BVision FastATA Eth 3Com, EFIKA5K2

| btw its been now mentioned that bitfield instructions are though being implemented in hardware instead of a library. the word is, they are going to take two cycles. lets see.

| If you are going to do a comparison, at least use a fast version of DOOM
BOOM AGA 060

AIBB results are nice, but application benchmarks would be better (may I suggest eg. lame, dnetc - to name simple ones). |

Impressive.
Now let's wait for Olaf, which is volunteering for adding 68K support to GCC 5 and LLVM, in order to make use of all that goodies, and for rewriting AROS/68K's graphic drivers. |

The Cinema 4D demo on Aminet is a good benchmark since everyone can get hold of it. Just pick a scene and the resolution and everyone easily can run the same test for comparison.

That's a great idea!
To have the same scenes rigged for people to benchmark across Amiga models and Accelerator Hardware would be interesting.
Would it be correct in thinking that bus speeds and ram would make some difference and could skew results, or not?
