I converted all my disks to adf on a A600 some time ago and transferred them to PC. The easiest way to make a backup |

Unfortunately, I got rid of my Quikpak A4000T around 2005. If I can't get any help with the Kryoflux/SAM460ex (or if it turns out to be incompatible), I may just get a used C= Amiga with 3.0/3.1 and a 1.76MB floppy drive.

Exactly. A600/1200 + PCMCIA/CF = best and fastest way for FD transfer. |

Except...that the X1000 actual was produced, as will be the X5000, and...unfortunately Tabor.Last edited by iggy on 02-Feb-2016 at 04:49 PM.

yes "hypeing" is not exclusive to "NG"
But at least from the ruins of the natami project finally something usable and buyable comes out |

| Meh, cant we enjoy Vampire or whatever classic version we roll with, and let the NG/AOS4 crowd enjoy their hardware without having sand kicked in their eyes? Last edited by Overflow on 02-Feb-2016 at 04:11 PM.

I didn't bring it up, I commented on a post.
On the Vampire, glad to see it reach the light of day (as opposed to the Natami). Gunnar comes through. I am pleasantly surprised.
AND, more on point, the thread is entitled "Re: Hyperion : why no OS4FE updates since 1 year ?", so wtf does the Vampire have to do with that?

Well, I don't think I have ever called Gun any names, but I have on more than one occasion ripped him for taking too long and not completing the projects he gets involved in.
And I am sincerely apologetic about that.
In any case, think for you guys to rejoice, a 68K compatible FPGA accelerator has been introduced for the A600 and it will no doubt be adapted to other models.
I might even buy one myself. |

now, this is probably the place to reveal, at what conceptual/development stage the ppc hardware you have promissed to the community few months ago, to be available in one year (because otherwise we will need to "swallow our lies" or something like that) currently is.

whatever. i am in favour of this project and have been supportingf it, but im not gaining from it as for now, since i dont have appropriate base hardware anymore, the a600. the future will show, whether it has been wrong or right.

I didn't actually 'promise' new PPC hardware, but I did try to explore the idea.
So an update is in order.
I contacted Bill Buck at Genesis (Bill also runs power2people which helps organize bounties). Bill asked for and received pretty complete summary of the ideas that have been discussed. Bill met its Freescale/NXP reps in December of last year and received little encouragement to pursue the project.
So the idea has been, at least temporarily, shelved.
Its not entirely dead, but without Genesi's (or power2people's) help I doubt it could be done quickly enough.
Right now I have a PCIe G5 waiting for future MorphOS support and may buy an X5000 to run OS4 and MorphOS, but I will limit my hacking projects to 68K based hardware (and 8 bit systems). Last edited by iggy on 02-Feb-2016 at 10:47 PM.
