Ran truly is depressing, besides being possibly the most beautiful movie to ever tell such a harrowing tale.

However, I think it's not a good match for our favourite saga. Indeed, this is the movie. And it's actually the trailer for the version restored by the BFI, which can be yours on Blu-Ray disc for less than £10. If you have money to spend, try to get the Criterion Collection edition which goes to great lengths to explain both the story and its context (e.g. why does Kanbei cut his hair and shaves his head at the beginning of the movie, and what does this signify?).

since throne in blood is mcbeth, it applies everywhere, especially there, where treason and struggle for power no matter what, is the driving force. particularly in a community, where smoke and mirrors count more than plain common sense and drama and conspiracy gather more interest and involvement than the alleged common subject of devotion. i dont even mean current players, but the whole history of what used to be amiga reads itself already since nineties as sane as a forest marching towards an unexpecting spectator out of the fog.

even more rashomon, like where there are three disputants there are five opinions. it reflects our social condition, not the individuals but mechanisms, right? we dont even need a woman be guilty of all..

isnt it? it was the first film of kurosawa i saw in polish tv as a kid. and i was amazed. also polanski claimed it was the film that made him want to be a director. not to speak of others.

@g01df1sh: I don´t know, you have to ask Amigakit about this.

Prior to my order to Alinea I asked Vesalia (because I ordered a Furia for my A600 from them) and got the answer that they would like to offer AmigaOS3.1.4 but because of the unclear legal situation they won't sell AmigaOS3.1.4 at the moment. Maybe its the same with Amigakit... But you really have to ask them.

There was a post on Hyperion's facebook where a user responded that he had contacted them and he posted the response from Amigakit.
That post seems gone now, as well as numerous edits to other postings.
*shrug*

You could check Amigakit for vendor and see what products from Hyperion are listed I suppose.

@TRIPOS: As I paid for it on a legal distibution channel and the authors of the software gave Hyperion the permission to sell their work, I assume that I bought legal software.

Also there is no court decission yet (and as I read the Seettlement Agreement Hyperion has more right as anyone else to distribute AmigaOS 3.1.4). So I see your comment about piracy as a private opinion I dont share (and care )
