I would love to get an A1222. I've been waiting a long time for a reasonably priced OS4 machine.
I am perplexed by the lack of "official" information though. The A1222 isn't even mentioned on the A-EON website -- not on the Product pages, and not anywhere in the news releases.
Where is the definitive product info?

The A1222 is out there but guessing they keep it from eassier access so they can focus on X5000 getting out the door. Once those are moving in volume, and Tabor is past beta stages, I bet they start advertising it more.
To me, the Tabor may become a very popular Amiga NG system. Price is more in line what more will be willing to spend. Decent bang for the buck.
May help grow Amigadom for sure.

Nothing......
..... till you want to clone it including data files, settings and else.
Or if you don't have the orginal archive at hand.
At some point someone will publish an SPEbinary forgetting to include one for normal FPU resulting in 90% of users getting a broken install.
Not a real biggie, but considering this all could have been avoided if Tabor hadn't been rushed at the start ( read a version with an SoC including proper FPU getting started 6 months later and probraly reaching finishline even before actual Tabor will do). _________________ - We don't need good ideas, we haven't run out on bad ones yet - blame Canada |

What I need most on new NG amiga is good wifi support. Do we have support for anything faster than 54g Yet ? _________________ A1200 ACA1232 128MB Indivison MkIICr Elbox empty Power Tower RPi3 Emulating C64 ZX Atari PS BBC Wii with Amiga emulation Vampire v4 SA |

And the collateral includes a 2015 release date - not exactly great for a marketing campaign.
Trevor's patience is admirable but I suspect that the OS could have been rewritten by the time the support is finished.

Yes, possible. On the other hand I got crashes after starting an Altivec binary on my Sam440ep. Or trying to execute a 68040 compile on my 68030 Amiga. Can happen, but isn't really a new "problem"._________________ X1000|II/G4|440ep|2000/060|2000/040|1000 |

| If the price is right for a full system, I might buy one, but the case as to be (really nice) the same for every A1222 or it will not have any identity IMO. Kamelito |

The Streacom FC8 Alpha seems a good option but I guess it will come down to price.
149 Euros seems the best price! Last edited by BigD on 16-Feb-2017 at 09:51 PM.

I might get one, depending on price and floating-point performance. I would like to get one, but... I've already spent my 2017 computer money on a new Kaby Lake system.

| I am not really sure that this FPU will be a huge issue. You program for the OS and let the OS deal with the HAL. Besides at the price its still a good piece of hardware.

Nice!
Scrolling in ScummVM seems to be choppy (may be video artifact), but SuperFrog is fluid. Emotion is fast too.
I´m really eager to see Odyssey performance (once LAN driver is available) and some non-SPE optimized 3D games. |

| @ShadowSun It is a standard AmigaOS 4.1 F.E. installation, no special UAE versions.
@Choppy Scumm: I think Frank (he did the video) also just started a standard installation of ScummVM, maybe disabled vsync, maybe not the right renderer.
Also note, it is not a finished version of OS4 or Tabor, just a quick snapshot, playing around with some software. There is much to do but as you see it runs not bad for an early version. _________________ www.amiboing.de - www.entwickler-x.de |
