What is the point of having two PPC AmigaOSes at all? I imagine the situation would have been a bit better if the development resources and user base had been pooled into the same platform. :-/

Too late now... There was window of opportunity back in early 2000s when Amiga.Inc re-started OS4 project, but as always mutual distrust and egos ruined all hope for one PowerPC AmigaOS. Yes, MorphOS was so close to become AmigaOS4, but its developers did choose full control over unity so fate of both OS4 and MorphOS was sealed: platform divided in two equal parts, each too small to make any meaningful impact on mainstream market.

Very reluctantly agreed. running back to fantasy world now

It's just one of the many what ifs throughout the history of the Amiga. I don't particularly care who's fault it is either at this point. Both sides probably felt justified/right, but the end result was an unfortunate split of very limited resources. I wanted the Amiga to have a grander future, but as it is, I prefer not to dwell too much on what could have been. I'd rather just enjoy it as a hobby, preserve this little bit of history and share it with the younger people.
