Hammer quoted the whole article at first which was highly questionable as far as fair use. The article is short and it is sometimes permissible to quote a whole article though.
https://www.copyright.gov/fair-use/index.html
After Hammer's edit, the moderators may be more concerned about censorship of fair use material than about a copyright violation. |
It has yet quoted a consistent part of the original. So, the fair use is questionable, since it's not a "small amount".
Anyway, what's interesting here is that: - amiga-news.de is likely running on a German server; - The BOT is writing from Australia; - amigaworld.net is likely running on an USA server.
Which copyright law applies in this case is a question mark..Last edited by cdimauro on 22-Jun-2025 at 12:50 PM.

| This is why having airtight licensing agreements and clear ownership transfers is critical in tech. The way Oberheiden P.C. breaks down IP contract disputes really highlights how companies like Cloanto can step in and legally secure assets that have been floating in legal limbo for years. Smart move on their part. Last edited by cip060 on 04-Jul-2025 at 07:55 AM.

I suggest you to don't file a lawsuit against he/him, because you could lose it as the judge would recognise the subject's inability to understand the elementary notions of law.
It would be better to report the post and/or write to Steve requesting its removal.

Whereas the above is the quick summation from Pacer, which often precedes the public posting of the documents, the following actual court filing essentially states the same info:
Court Listener document
Basically it's just stating the appeal memorandum is now official in the eyes of the Washington State court.
