Hi Yes I Was thinking the same. Does he visit this site maybe he can shed some light on the DSP issue. At the moment Prisma is looking more usefull apart from it looks like cd audio pass through has not been done yet and requires a addon module to activate.

Maybe you're playing it at 11025Hz. Maybe it's 8-bit mono. But I 100% guarantee you're not hearing the full quality of the MP3 |
With an MP3 at 128Kbps I think you would be hearing the full quality by playing it at 11,025 Hz. LOL! :Last edited by Hypex on 04-Oct-2017 at 10:10 AM.

Well I got test beep again but it's totally random when it works and when it don't. Could something not be loading at boot up ànd then sometimes it does? Very strange and confusing.

I have my Prisma installed in my A1200 tower, with the Mediator it works out well (by coincidence). It hooks up to the clock port on the A1200. The cable is long enough you can route it so the edge of the Prisma card fits snugly between 1st PCI slot and the 2 rows of socketed chips.

Before I got an 060 I would put the music on a CD and connect the CDDA out on the CDROM drive to my sound card. Sounded great. |
Sure, old PC trick, been there done that, was kind of surprised by my first system that was fast enough to pull the info off digitally and play the sounds.
Sounds silly, but I probably have some old mpeg decoder cards as well, not just PCI boards like the DXR2 and DXR3, but older ISA cards as well.
Processors fast enough to process live audio and video streams? Absurd!_________________ Amiga! "Our appeal has become more selective" |

It seems you do have some issue alright, maybe some driver issue or a bad connection somewhere, or some issue with your AHI installation. But, as I've already said, the mixer portion of your PCI sound card doesn't need drivers or AHI, it should just work. And if it does, you'll have no need for the as yet unreleased mixer portion of the Prisma.
@Drewlio77
Nice that it works that way. I take it it just sits loose, or have you secured it somehow? Do you have the insulated or non-insulated version?
@Beans
Well, dealing with raw CDDA isn't a big deal. Even a stock A1200 might be able to handle it, though I haven't tried it (it's no problem on an '030 though). There were some CD filesystems that presented audio CDs as a disc containing an AIFF file for each track. You just had to select those tracks to play them via the IDE port and Paula. No real processing needed and the throughput required is only 150KB/s.
The thing is though, playing digitally isn't supported by most games, which either issue the audio commands directly to the CD drive, or via cdplayer.library. There is a patched cdplayer.library that redirects those calls to use CDDA instead, but it's OS4 only. So you basically need to use the audio cable for in-game CD music on a classic. _________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |
