| Hello friends of AmigaWorld, I hope you don’t mind me doing a bit of promotion of the remake I've been working on for a while and I have been sharing on social media during the last week.
You can watch the first teaser trailer here
It Came From The Desert Remake is my attempt of updating this Cinemaware masterpiece to modern visuals and mechanics.
I have just released the first devlog on my blog where you can read and see a bit more about the process behind the scenes.
Hope you like it and decide to follow the development on Twitter, Youtube or Blogger
Cheers!

| @JosCanPer Obviusly for Amiga systems the game does't run because the unify not exists for MorphOS, AROS and AmigaOS3 or 4.

| @OlafS25 Yes, we saw much of these post from people that only want sell us their games taking advantage of hete there are people that spend our money in all product with Amiga label. And how many post will see from him? This for sell us his product not Amiga, I can sell potatoes with Amiga label, but this forum is one Amiga forum, or one market for anything even it not be for our systems? |

This is not an Amiga game per se indeed but just thought some Amiga fans will find it interesting since it is a remake of a very well known Amiga game. If you don't find it interesting, you can simply ignore this thread and go on with your life.
Not sure the reason for all the hate since this is a non-profit-making game.
However, I invite the admins to move this thread to the appropriate section or simply delete it if it's not of interest to anybody. |

Nice attitude...
The OP is attempting to remake a classic Amiga title. And you can't even say he is trying to fleece us as it is not profit.
I for one appreciate his posting as well as the fact that he is working on a remake.

And people are still wondering why devs don't want to have anything to do with Amiga community. |

Yeah and not just devs.. Newbies get crushed on day one when asking questions I thought that was the main reason for a forum, is to collaborate and provide answers to folks that have questions..
Apparently not in the Amiga world..

Yeah I understand your sentiment, and if this turns out to be the same kind of thing then give him a hard time, but we need to give him the benefit of the doubt rather than blasting him as soon as he arrives..

Thanks for taking the time to post and for your work on this classic Amiga title. Will you be combining Antheads into it, or just a re-imagining of the original game?

Hello mate, the teaser looks great. Very well done. And a mention of honor I think it has to be spent since it is a non-for-profit project.

Weird attitude dude. If you are only going to talk about new Amiga stuff then this will be a very quiet place. The guy hasn't called a potato Amiga has he? He's remaking one of the all time classic Amiga games on a modern platform, a kinda what if (os4 hardware could have been his target but for a credible nostalgic audience who don't want to spend hundreds if not thousands to get a machine that runs os4 then the lowly PC is a great route to a larger user base).
I think Next Gen Amiga users are frustrated whenever yet another opportunity to run new apps or games is passed off for a more mainstream platform and/or hardware. But you can see why a developer wouldn't want to spend a great deal of time writing software for several hundred (perhaps a few thousand) people who are still running os4/morphOS. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |
