Did you read the comments? Those tests on wccftech are total BS.

One has to wonder, if Trevor/Amigakit have long term plans for OS4, can they afford to stay on PPC? Because, in all likelihood, there might not be any new PPC chips other than POWER, which is too expensive for 90% of OS4 customers.

They can because they have too. Otherwise someone has to pay for porting the OS to another arch. And even with a host of the OS code in C it isn't a trivial task to even bring it up to booting on another platform. But they should be thinking about it. Or consider a PPC to ARM run time code converter.

But, don't all OS4 customers pay an expense, for any OS4 machine?

By comparison, perhaps OS4 customers should drop OS4 and instead invest in AROS on a better supported platform. Even on PPC it had a build. But it would be least supported by now.

Well, since Trevor now owns the kernel and probably much of the drivers and such, they are not really tied to anything. Hyperion must know, that, if Trevor/Amigakit bails, they're done. So they should play along and seriously consider an arch switch, before diminishing interest and userbase make it impossible.
I'm sure Freescale remaining PPC CPUs will be getting harded and harder to get and more expensive, as the latest chips are now almost a decade old and probably only made to order.
