OK, you can't vote Amiga OS4.1, accident or purpose?

@g01df1sh

Since Amiga OS4 is not listed, I'll give you my second choice.

My second mostly used install of Amiga OS is Amiga OS 3.1 emulated using E-UAE
running on AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update 1.

@g01df1sh

AmigaOS 4.1FEu1 in WinUAE.

Interesting enough, although 3.x has better performance under WinUAE (FPU, GFX, LAN), I run my fine-tuned classic setup only rarely (mainly for PPaint as OS4 version doesn´t work well in WinUAE).

Hi

Sorry forgot OS4 could be something to do with waiting years for affordable hardware. Also not enough option on the poll section. If I added OS4 I would need to leave another one out.

Since Amithlon is legally sketchy and hasn't been on sale since a couple of months after its release (from memory) that should have been substituted for AmigaOS4.x. By not included it you've made this thread political when you didn't need to!

Why H&P are allowing downloads to continue of Amithlon is weird. I guess the developers are free to push on without H&P's input no that they've left the market? Why couldn't their differences have been worked out in 2002? It could have been a game changer back then :

http://www.generationamiga.com/2017/02/19/amiga-nostalgia-amithlonamigaosxl/

I feel like OS3.5 should have been substituted for 'PANCAKES' as OS3.9 superceded it and pancakes are great!

The last three aren't flavours of Amiga OS so you had plenty of space....

Another bad poll - no option for 3.0!

@g01df1sh

If you want to experience OS4 affordably may want to contact another member who has recently upgraded their machine to an X5000. Looks like they may be selling their Sam460 which is a nice entry level machine for OS4

https://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=43089&forum=33

Add a right graphics card to it and you will get to enjoy the many Warp3D/Warp3DNOVA goodies currently out that can’t be run under emulation.

Just a thought 😉

Oh and the best flavour of Amiga OS is currently version 4.1 Final edition IMHO

Once you go back to running earlier versions on an A1200 and see how slow everything is you soon be an advocate for a next gen machine

You have added choose several options, because I use MorphOS and AmigaOS 3.9 too, and sometimes to test my programs and games the AmigaOS4.1, but mainly the MorphOS and OS.3.9.

@Templario

Indeed MorphOS is also a viable option.

The Sam460 will run that too in addition to AmigaOS 4.1.

Strange poll. I can't select AmigaOS 4.1. Even if I ignore everything after AmigaOS 3.9 I can't vote, because there is no option for AmigaOS 3.1.4\3.9 hybrid. Not even 3.1.4 *and* 3.9. Useless.

4.1 FE

Please stop the crusade, it's getting really tiresome, to see adults argue like this, pathetic might be the right word.

@g01df1sh

That does not make sense, 'classic' hardware isn't for sale either the last decades.

The only new hardware (besides FPGA- like Mist or Chameleon) available is the X5000.

Affordable ? That is relative offcourse, it could be cheaper then a pimped A4000.

This is looking very affordable as an OS4 machine and doesn’t look in bad nick either. I’d bid if I were you
