@kolla

I guess i remembered wrongly (or the local newspaper had it wrong). When I googled it up there are three criteria to get an exception:
- startup, no older than 3 years
- less than 10 Mio EUR revenue/a
- less than 5 Mio visitors/month.

_All_ three criteria must be met. I thought _one_ criterion were sufficient...

Grmphhh!

@bhabbott

Normally I do my own music with OctaMED 6, but this time I really wanted to do a music cartoon, set to one of my favourite commercial pop songs!

It's not like I ripped of the song entirely, I was sure to credit Starship and the original writers, and that I didn't own anything.

I've seen countless vids using commercial songs, from serious projects to just children having FUN! no doubt they have been auto-blocked in some countries like mine was, but not entirely, and they're not suing thousands of YouTubers or shutting down their channels! Fair, I guess.

Well, I guess it's a done deal. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

@thellier

And I can post you a link what legal problems are arising now and how it will affect many sites, sites that do not have millions of users and are not google. I make a prediction... it will help google and other big companies who have enough ressources and destroy a lot of smaller competitors. It will mean less for the user and it will not help newspapers at the end.

I already dropped the subscription at the local newspaper, if not I would have done it now to protest.

I am pissed.. but currently the game is simple.. establish every 3 years a new company to circumvent this shit.

In a few years you will get the required filters as "filter-as-a-service" for a small monthly fee.

But I am now seriously thinking about voting for AFD next time.. 33% were enough for a european eruption last time... I hate them (AFD) but they hate Europe.. and I hate those retarded running it.

I may even become the imigrant alibi face of AFD.. i am pissed.
I am seriously pissed ..

Fu**ing coalition.. a contract worth less then toilet paper ..

Not really. Nobody voted for "those running it" (i.e. Juncker, Tusk, Timmermans, Schulz...), they just elected themselves.

Now tech companies are just another arm of the EU government
They would be best to just pull out and block access from the EU

What a nonsense. President of the European Commission (Juncker) is nominated by the European Council, whose members are heads of state/government of member states - all elected in free and fair elections. President of the European Commission is then confirmed/rejected by the European Parliament - directly elected by all citizens.

Blame your own leaders for choice of EU representatives.

Pure madness. Only way to maintain at least some independence of smaller states is strong union. Great powers don´t care about wishes of people in unimportant countries they don´t even heard about, these small countries are a mere toys for them.

History of the 20th century teaches us really well do not trust in mercy of foreign powers. My country was de-facto created by great powers in 1918, then dissected by (nearly the same) great powers in 1938, occupied by powerful neighbor in 1939, enslaved by beloved ally after 1948 and finally occupied again by the same big "friend" in 1968.

Even with all the bad in the EU, there is no other reasonable alternative.

Don't waste your vote on the right, dumb and naysayer party AFD. For the EU election I really suggest the Pirate party. Their current only EU parliament member Julia Reda did a great job in fighting against this copyright directive. There is no 5% hurdle in effect for this election, hence the vote is not wasted.

We are from the same country, but we have opposite views on the EU. The EU is increasingly resembling Comecon, limiting freedom of speech, only one opinion is right, orders, prohibitions, migrants etc... Sentence "there is no other reasonable alternative" is the way to hell. Brexit is a sample case... The vote did not go well, we will vote again. This time correctly.

Oh, back to Amiga ;)
