A-Eon issues

I hope this is the right forum for these questions.
I recently purchased a X5000. When I go online to register the software the A-EON site doesn't accept any of the registration codes. Because of this I can't upgrade the paint program or any of the enhancer software.
So that brings me to the next linked problem. The AmiStore does nothing but ask for a user name and password. The user and password work on the web site, but of course I can't purchase anything there. I tried the Odyssey fix from their page but still no go. I have also reinstalled a few times to see if it is the software.
With there being no actual support available from A-EON how does one purchase new software or upgrade older programs?
Can anyone help with this issue?
Rob

@robbhar

First of all, where did you purchase the X5000 ? Your reseller should provide support- it is their responsibiity after taking your money. Did they install the Enhancer Software on your system ?

Can you login into other Amisphere services such as Updater tool ?

You can register software in Updater tool here:

http://wiki.amiga.org/index.php?title=Updater#Registering_Software

@amigakit

AOTL but they don't answer their phones and don't respond to any messages. The X5000 cam installed with Enhancer 1.4 but they sent me a disk for 1.3.
Yes I can get in fine, but none of the software is "available to download".
I will try registering with it.

Hi Rob

On the back of the Enhancer Software CD is a serial key code.

You can register this serial key code in Updater tool by following this guide:

http://wiki.amiga.org/index.php?title=Updater#Registering_Software

Then the items on the Enhancer Software you have will be available to download as updates.

I hope this helps.

@amigakit

Well the updater says the same thing as on the web "The key entered is not recognized", even though it is exactly correct put in.

Wow! AOTL called almost immediately and straightened out the communication issues. Now that's service!
But sadly the problem still resides in the Amistore and Amisphere.
The issue remains trying to enter, upgrade, or enter anything in AmiStore that works.
Amikit kindly agreed to accept my registrations with a photo emailed to them.

OK got the amiupdater and registration issues resolved with help from AmiiKit. Now the big problem:

Has anyone gotten the AmiStore to work and how did you do it?

Do you mesn Updater or AmiUpdate? They aren't the same

If Updater then the same login details for that should work with AmiStore.

I have found that the Amistore program does not like some special characters in the password, even though the password works when trying to log in at amistore.net.

Sorry Updater, but no the same login does not work with AmiStore. Or it might but since it re-asks for a login and then doesn't do anything...

That is strange. I think the user name and password for amistore is stsored in ENV(ARC):A-EON. It might be worth deleteing those (or perhaps copying them to safe place just in case) then trying to log into AmiStore with a totally fresh session.

My passwrd is alphanumeric only (mixed caps) and 12 characters long. Not sure if there is alength limit but keeping in that ballpark will be safe.

The username *must* be 8 characters long (but if updater is sorted you likely have that right).

@broadblues

The password is the one they sent me, so I presume it is correct in all ways.

So AmiStore still does not work and there is no way to purchase anything from it. Sad as there were several things I would like to get, but now can't. This must be hurting the developers as they no longer get any proceeds from missed purchases.

I will start contacting the individual developers and get the software that way.

Just when you think Amiga has a great new machine, the software kills it!

@robbhar

I had similar issues, couldn't register products or log in to Amistore. I emailed support@amisphere.com with my details, and after some back and forth, it was resolved a week or so later. I found several threads here where people were having the same problem, an "account reset" or something like that seemed to be needed at A-EONs end. I didn't have to change anything with my configuration - it just started working after the last "it should be fixed, try now" email. Hope you get it sorted!

Ha, nice! Hope you're enjoying it :) I've had a lot going on in life recently so have only been able to grab the odd hour here and there with my Amigas, but am still loving it. Which reminds me, I must post another update soon and finish off my setcmd tool.
