Didn't really think they would ever reach this point. Frankly, I don't even see the point. But it seems they did actually get there (they must be kind of finished and just wrapping things up at this point if they are presenting this to the public), and at least they seems to see the point (and it's their money and effort/time to spend as they chose after all).

Some news about the Tabor and a with a price to place an order.
But the announcement raises questions like: are the missing driver(s) included or added later sometime? In other words is the machine uasable with OS4.x

Nice to see some progress for the OS4 situation as well.

Is the 400 EUR with VAT? The show was held in Germany - prices here have to be given incl. VAT if targeting to end customers. Hence, it should be (non EU customers may substract 19% then). Price is pretty okay. This is really nice news - if they will deliver soon.

I think the show had some real highlights:

- Initial sale of Vampire V4 - cool stuff!

- MorphOS x64 - a game changer!

Pity I had no time to go there.

@Zylesea

Wow, if that is true, being in USA means 324 euro plus shipping instead if that is the case. If true.. that would be awesome!!! Means $357.41 plus shipping. If true.. that is a crazy great price!

@amigasociety

Not quite. That informtion was mistakable. The actual VAT is 19%, thus - IF the 400 Euro did include VAT and there won't be other aspects rising the costs for non-EU customers - one has to subtract about 15.96%, resulting in 336.16 Euro.

From apollo-core.com one get the impression that many/most V4 systems were sold preinstalled with custom OS 3 kickstart and “Coffin” ready to boot on CF card.

With all copyright holders present at the very same show and not giving a damn, I would say that speaks volumes - they have given up, they cannot afford to protect their own IP.

Only 15+ years late? I remember being at univ and anyone arguing with laire, piru and bigfoot etc about MorphOS on PC hardware were ridiculed, as it would mean “competing with Windows”.

Nice, I hope he could enjoy the show and people did not give him a bad time.

How did the Q&A with Hyperion go? Is there anything to share? :)

It wasn’t sold now. They usually never mentions VAT on occasions like this! Nor shipment, and we probably have had a Hard Brexit by then, so customs fee is possibly added as well as VAT. Casing “customized” with stickers and system components like memory, HDD etc is stuff that AmigaKit makes their money on and would like to sell you, as well as the only GFX card the system supports that you must probably buy from them new or find yourself second hand, and then “Enhancer Software” that contains the essential system components to make it usable since OS4 itself has no support for it (“access to” is not the same as “included in price”).

I think it remains to be seen where the price lands once it gets here. There are many unknown variables...

Indeed, many interesting news and developments! Seems to have been good news from all around, from every entity in the community! It was a very successful show IMHO, congratulations to the organizers And participants!

This was another thing that surprised me: https://kato.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Amiga34/DSC06834.JPG

And may I ask what was the blue MorphOS Book you could see at the MorphOS Team table? Anyone knows?
