Friendly and constructive life lesson:
if you're hypersensitive, don't go on a forum asking money for unfinished and poorly written code.

| This is a programming thread? :)
Is there any “recent” software written in AMOS? And this release vs “amos kittens”? _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

| Blast from the past. AMOS was nice in good old times of Amiga 500. Idea of taking entire controll of Amiga was good as long as there was only one Amiga - Amiga 500 and everybody use only floppies. It was big problem on Amiga 1200 after it release. No hdd support. It will be better to leave AMOS at it is. And spend time on improving open source reimplementation of AMOS like XAMOS.

we missed you and your wisdom
it is not running on PPC so it is not your problem
XAMOS and Amos Kittens are both interpreter and such make no sense on 68k Last edited by OlafS25 on 02-May-2020 at 08:36 AM. Last edited by OlafS25 on 02-May-2020 at 08:28 AM.

amos kittens is pure interpreter and too slow on genuine amigas
it makes no sense for 68k (except when running on UAE)
also there are lots of extensions on amos pro that not exist for amos kittens
I do not know what you mean with "recent" in amiga terms?
there are certainly older games (from 90s) who might be updated
really new software (written from scratch) has to be seen |

the high time of amos was end of 80s until early 90s (1990/1991)
unfortunately it was never extended to AGA and/or RTG and new standards like AHI Last edited by OlafS25 on 02-May-2020 at 08:56 AM.

this thread is about current AGA development not the failed 3D bounty...
just a short comment from outside
even if there are things to improve in sources also the tone is important. To me (looking from outside) it looked like some programmers had fun destroying someone else and showing their superior skills
to cyte amigadave: "I understand your anger towards AmiDark because of his initial response to your first post in this thread, but your tone and the way you are wording all of your subsequent posts in this thread are FAR from diplomatic, and such tone and attitude make it even harder for AmiDark to consider your suggestions for code changes. It appears now that your only purpose in posting in this thread is to embarrass or criticize AmiDark's code, instead of being constructive with your review."
expecially one programmer there who is not supporting the 68k platform at all...
That made them (and him) not very sympathic to me (to say that politely)
That seems the only skill left in amiga community... destroying and demotivating others
I do not see that if I f.e. look in other retro forums (like C64)
there people treat other more politely and are happy about people doing something
and those critisizing in that old thread are not really contributing much to amiga currently... Last edited by OlafS25 on 02-May-2020 at 08:51 AM.

My dearest friends, we are not here to crucify our hypersensitive brother for begging money in exchange for terrible code, but rather to keep our other naive and uninformed friends away from what will most probably quickly turn into another adventure in grand delusions and money squandering. Could I be more clear?
Certainly we are also not here to judge the skills of this poor old wrinkled chap, who might or might now incidentally have been a master architect who wrote code for the millions, but has since moved to the silken pillows and golden parachutes of upper management.
So, worry not! With this last missive, MEGA RJ MICAL is out of the thread! But you have been warned, friends toward whom I send the warmest of all my embraces, you have been warned! Beware of the alluring promises of yet another bundle of legacy code!
Your most humble servant and truly faithful friend, MEGA RJ MICAL Last edited by MEGA_RJ_MICAL on 02-May-2020 at 08:53 AM.

again what is your problem there?
you are not programming
Amidark is not asking anyone for money
people who use amos will perhaps use it and if they see problems report it back so it can be fixed
it is a extension so it can be easily removed
behavior I see on amiga forums is unknown in other retro forums. Not very motivating anyone outside Last edited by OlafS25 on 02-May-2020 at 09:03 AM.

| @MEGA_RJ_MICAL 1. I never asked for money concerning AMOS Pro AGA support. so you're a troll in your last post.
2. Concerning AmiDARK Engine, it were peoples from the amiga community that proposed me to do a bounty because they known it that past period my financial situation was difficult, even if the project was in Alpha/Beta development state. Not final. It was Not a request from me. Once again you fool the truth with your subjective sentencies.
3. It's not a professional project, it's just for fun and I thank especieally RJ Micak to revive "past" that did have nothing to do here. It was really constructive to learn about some amigaworld peoples not able to think that 10 years after something, the knowledge or people have evolved... But remain in your troll sentencies that are 10 years ago... It's a good stuff.
For me, I develop AGA on AMOS (past product) with my actual knowledge, not the one that I had 10 years ago. And for pleasure, not for money, otherwise I may have accepted François proposal to put it in a boxed version 5 months ago... I refused because I wanted to develop this for free ...
For now, I will no more answer here. Some here disgusted me again and what may be a pleasure become a pain. Some are really strong in that way of acting.
@OlafS25 : RJ Mical just do the troll because he don't want the AMOS to get AGA and uses a 10 years past to try to kill the project. Simply.

do not take it personal... other people are happy
perhaps you are sometimes too sensible. It is good to keep your sources closed until most bugs are removed and then publish finally
I would recommend to stay on facebook where people like some of those here would be removed... Last edited by OlafS25 on 02-May-2020 at 09:08 AM.

| This is all very easy, the sources are on github and anyone can report issues, problems, bugs, make forks, commit changes, submit pull requests (if they wish).

I only recall avoiding anything AMOS simply because just about all AMOS software started with by turning off multitasking and taking over the entire machine. |
Is that because of the software or AMOS itself? I would blame AMOS as it blocked the screen and had the AMOS switcher thing. But I doubt it took over the whole machine as the OS would still need to be there and graphics.library would still need to work. It did lock out Intution. I would call it a soft take over. There were some windowing programs but it was uncommon. |

It did disable multitasking and would only yield control to the OS using the "Multi Wait" command. |

I remember when I buy a1200. It was few years before WHDL emulator. I buy hdd but almost no one game works with hdd. I have hdd but games had to run from floppies. What a pity. thats all about taking full control on computer.
