That's not really any proof, there are (sadly) plenty of organisations and providers that dictate NAT, enforce web proxies etc.

@kolla

My ISP threw me in the CGN jail a few years ago to mitigate the IPv4 address exhaustion. I remember being thrown off when I saw "my" IP being banned on a few sites I never visited before.

MEGA is just mad because he can't release his fully coded and updated AMOS PRO for the AAA chipset.

Friend DiscreetFX,
why do you keep picking on me? Was that copycat less eloquent, I would suspect it was created by you. But, alas, your skillset resides slewhere (I.E., in the field of selling t-shirts depicting muscular women in bikini holding guns)

With that behind us, let me remind you that I know nothing of the AAA as I left Commodore long before that glorious project could even become an embryo within that doomed womb from which it never got to emerge.

Nor would I anyway try to desecrate the embalmed body of Amos to run yet another freak show of unfinished projects, delusions and general awkwardness.

Your Mega Friend,
MEGA RJ MICAL

On a rather funny and ironic note, AmiDARK is explicitly breaking the condition of the license that makes it possible for him to release AMOS AGA at all.

He has simply removed the LICENSE file from his repo, and it says:

Quote:

The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all
copies or substantial portions of the Software.

https://github.com/AOZ-Studio/AMOS-Professional-Official/blob/master/LICENSE

I would also recommend AmiDARK to provide not just a dump of his AGA fork in a seperate repo, but rather provide his work as commits/diffs on top of the original AMOS Professional, so one can actually follow the changes, and not have to submit the same bug fixes to both individual repos - github is a development tool, not a dumping site.

@kolla

I don’t think it was exactly removed, there are different places you find Amos source code, its was forked from different source I maybe.

Besides “Francois lionet” has changed the license to MIT in 2007, and LGPL and then to MIT in 2020. I have started to keep track of licence of AmosPro, not because of source code, but because of the assets like graphics and data files are interesting.

The tools are of course interesting too, but not required if your only going to download a game and play it.

@NutsAboutAmiga
Kolla was right on the fact that I did put it in the readm. and it is no more... It was an error from me.
When restoring my old files to create the repo, I've overwriten the readme I prepared and that contained the licence information + more details.

@Kolla
Thank you Kolla for showing this. Original Licence term is now available again.
https://github.com/AmiDARK/Amos-Professional-AGA-Releases/blob/master/README.md

I plan to add it in a Licence.txt file instead of in the readme because it makes it too long.

Concerning the official repository.
No. Due to what happened with François Lionet during December/January 2020, I will not directly fork the official and will not push any changes in it. MIT Licene allow me to "relicence" the product, and i'ts what I've done. Once AGA support will be fully completed, I will reopen source code. But for the moment it remains closed... People like ... *RG Mad* are another reason for this choice.

Regards,
AmiDARK

Friend AmiDARK!

Your AGA shenanigans raises questions from here all the way to West Chester. Should I quiver with anxiety, knowing that your wild manners leaves out the RTG users out in the cold? Should I shed a tear, knowing that your rebellious attitude closes the door to networking stacks, the ZZ9000 and 4K resolutions? NO, I SAY!!!!!! No, for I must endure, knowing that the jail cell that is AGA must be broken! Instead, I summon the Entity of Wisdom with a limerick foretelling a future darker than the name of which I know you by.

There once was a lad called AmiDARK
Compelled to split communities, both weak and stark
Hitting the hardware is a must
He thought in moments of distrust
Snarling to graphic cards with a bark

IT'S NOT TOO LATE!!!!!!

Signed with a Wet Willy,

@MEGA_RJ_M|CAL

Believe it or not, people are allowed to do what they want to do. There's actually no law that says anything has to be supported.
Some people like using the custom chipset. If they'd rather go use RTG then there's other software for them.

Also,... "split communties"...

That's one of the dumbest suggestions Ive ever seen on an Amiga site, which is impressive.
There's been nothing in the way of coherence with the Amiga scene for decades.
How on Earth did you come up with an idea so stupid as to suggest that adding AGA support, to software already only utilizing custom chipsets is in any way shape or form "splitting communities"?

(rhetoric, you're clearly doing nothing other than flexing your stupidity).

@AmiDARK

AGA hardware prices are ridiculous.
AGA has not real advantages over OCS/ECS.
It was too little too late almost thirty years ago when released and stil is.
It is better to leave original AMOS as it is and do not made another split in our community.

@ppcamiga1

AGA = 256 colors, it RGB palette RR, GG, BB $000000-$FFFFFF format, compered old OCS color format R,G,B $000-$FFF format, so it has lot more in common then with VGA modes, when your using modern PC gfx card in legacy modes. Also 256 is the max you can put into one byte.

VGA has memory organized in different way, then AGA and that’s the difference, but it’s an important difference, because AMOS extensions expect planar graphics. You can’t expect all extensions to be replaced by new ones. And many classic users will never upgrade.

Friends fishy_fis and AmireDark,

First, let me turn off my Sarcasm Detector™. Second, please accept my sincere, utmost apologies! It appears as if this is one big mistake worthy the deepest bow imaginable. Clearly, you do not yet understand me. Most likely this is a language problem.

But do not fret, fellow amigans, for help is here! I've asked Unca Irving's niece to explain the relationship between AGA, graphics cards and RTG in a way you can all understand. Her tools - a box of crayons, a glass of Kool-Aid, a basket of falafel and elementary knowledge of Amiga hardware. Her salery - a briefcase jam-packed with Commodore stock and Bahamas sand. My remuneration - the pleasure of spreading much needed knowledge within our ranks. WE ARE ALL WINNERS DOING THINGS THE PROPER WAY!!!!1111!!! VRRRRRRROOOOOOOO-OOOOO-OOOOOOM!

Turning the Sarcasm Detector™ on again,
Your Friendly Neighborhood MEGA_RJ_M|CAL

@All and especially those that critics my project :

1. I am responsible of my choices and acts. It's the basement of everything I say below :

2. I am NOT responsible for your uncapability to accept that what is is .

3. I am NOT responsible for any "split" of the community. Each person is responsible of its own choices and acts. If some of the Amiga community are uncapable to join common cause, it's not my fault but their. My current cause is Amiga Classics AGA. Maybe later I'll join another Amiga cause like RTG support or something else. But it's not the current objective nor priority.

4. Some people are unhappy with the idea that I may create an AGA Version of Amos Professional : I do not care. (and be sure that I remain polite, because in my brain my though is really less gentle)

5. I do not work on AGA support for Amos Professional for money. So, if you consider this project with a business plan, you're totally wrong!

6. I exactly know what AGA is as I have already worked on it in the past. I also exactly know how modern video cards works and I've already worked on many projects on modern computers, smartphones, etc.. I know the difference between planars, chunky, etc... so your lesson ... you can put it ... err ... I will remain polite

7. I do not care about "you should" or "you shouldn't" if they are not in the direction to help the project to come alive. I take care about positives ideas (and I've already added several ideas from Amiga Amos Professional community).

You can continue with your sarcasm and negative though ... It will change nothing! and it's one of the fun and pleasing part of the story !

From now, News about the projects will be available on the mini-site I develop, and on AmosPRO coding group on Facebook. The jungle is a piece of shit and I'm not adept of this...

Bye to all.

@AmiDARK

I see, so there are no sources in your repo - so why use github? Why not just upload an archive to Aminet instead? At least then it will be possible to easily download it to Amiga systems - with github that’s not exactly straight forward.

@kolla

On the repo, people can follow progress, post bug reports, contact me, etc...

And, due to the fact that it is clearly in Work In Progress and far from being finished, it's not ready for a release in Aminet. I'll prepare a version for AMINET, when it will be ready for Milestone 1 release.

And on git hub it is really easy to download, click on "Clone or Download" then on "Download ZIP"...

AmiDARK
