I'd rather use Google Docs then OpenOffice, I guess just for the way fonts are rendered on screen. If I got a simple word processor which had such a nice Renderer I would have no problem. I know I am not representative, but just to point my view forward _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The Illusion of Choice | Am*ga |

You don't need to explain. I'm also a Google docs user, mostly for the Orthogonal Persistence* they offer ;)

You might want to take a look at JWM. The code is slightly idiosyncratic, but it's organized pretty well, it has a panel and menu system, and it's not too big (about 30K).

Tinywm is great; that's how I learned about window managers.
The downside is that it's so small that it's almost like starting from scratch.

Thanks a lot - this code base looks like good way to get introduced to this topic. _________________ https://www.axrt.org |

I use my own self-hosted NextCloud instance with ONLYOFFICE.

Notice, I am talking regarding how text is rendered on screen, not function wise |
And I’m talking about unnecessarily feeding the Google wolf.
Google Docs font rendering could literally have text fly off the screen and turn into the mythical Ambrosia, and I would still not want to use it.
And there’s nothing wrong with how ONLYOFFICE renders fonts.

| I don't have a problem with open office's rendering or feeding the Google wolf by using their docs product. I've lost enough data over the years. If I ever want to put something sensitive in Google drive,I'll just encrypt it first. And while Google may have the processing power to have a go at cracking it, I'm sure they have better things to use it on. _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |
