@TRIPOS

Wayfarer it’s definitively a killer app for morphos!
It’s also growing in features and bug fixes.
I have to try it with Iris email client and make amiga great again for everyday tasks.

@Fl@sh

Finally upgraded to the latest version of MorphOS and gave Wayfarer a try. Very happy with the browser to say the least! Work related pages loaded up just fine, as well as newspapers I like to read and much, much more. Now I can enjoy MorphOS without having to switch to the PC just to check something Online.

I use a Mac Mini G4 here and Wayfarer runs at a pretty good speed I think. Wonder how it performs on a G5?

@AmigaOldskooler

I works a bit better on G5 (2.3 GHz PCIe here) so also page redrawing is faster. Upcoming version 1.6 should have https connection speedups.

@AmigaOldskooler

On my G5 wayfarer runs about at same speed of tenfourfox under OS X, but running on one single core
It uses AltiVec but is optimised for G4 so there is still some room to speed improvements.

V1.6 out now.

Seems to run faster and has quite some improvements. It's pretty progressed already!

Updates keep coming quickly: V1.7 is out now.

Again it's faster and better. Really an impressive work!

@AmigaOldskooler

It runs well on my Pegasos 2 however most pages that have graphics seem to barely use the graphics card and instead max out my CPU to render pages, it's constantly hitting 100% CPU load.

That said it is the best browser on Amiga like systems thats for sure.

@Fairdinkem

cairo and pixman draw everything using the CPU indeed. This is also the case for Odyssey.

Well! This is actually what holds me back from getting a NG-system. There is (was) no good webbrowser. However this seems to solve the case. When is it released for OS4.x?

It won't, at least not in the near future, it misses the needed toolchain

No OS4 C++ programmers have expressed interest in doing that.

@jacadcaps

Is there any plans to leverage graphics cards to render pages using GPU acceleration as some pages lock the computer up with 100% CPU usage making the computer unusable?
