@Kremlar

How do you define a "proper" Mini-ITX case; i.e., what are the dimensions?

@bison

In my opinion similar to the one I have linked above, which is 7.72 x 7.48 x 2.44 inches.

Since you are very active here in this thread I'll take the chance to remind you once again that you still didn't react on anything here. Care to do so now?

Since this thread is very active in itself, I'll take the chance to remind you once again that you still didn't react on the above post about reacting to this.

@Kremlar

So a Mac Mini case, basically, but with an external power supply.

It's okay, but I like a small desktop better, since it sits under the monitor and doesn't take up much additional space.

@bison

I was thinking the same, the Checkmate can support a CRT monitor also which will appeal to those wanting to recreate something like an A3000 or retro game enthusiasts.

I had a Mac mini back when they were first released, it was an affordable Mac but upgrade options were limited and the PSU was external. The whole set up could messy quickly once you had multiple leads hanging out of the small unit, an external HD, etc. Mine ended up down the back of the desk once, think I tried moving the printer to fix a paper jam .

I think the new Checkmate is a good size, not too big, but big enough to support a CRT and allow for some expansion and an internal power supply.

@Kremlar

I appreciate your comments, and I will happily let you have all the designs for you to modify and make your ideal product?

I will even give you the name of the Chinee company that do my 3D printing so well.

Steve
