Yes please, can we have more info.
We're in prime holiday season gift shopping season. Will we have it in time?

I think it is a bit strange they don`t show us more updates and progress, we Amiga users can give proper feedback in this process.. Hopefully more info comes soon and also some visitors @ the show have some details ... |

We attended the Amiga38 show in Germany on the weekend.
One of our tables had the A600GS prototype running a selection of Classic Amiga games. Thankfully we had positive feedback during the day. Many were stopping by to have a quick game or two and test how things play.
The A600GS development has just added support for bluetooth audio. The show hall was noisy so we did not use the bluetooth sound bar in the end.
A few Classic Amiga developers stopped by and tested the performance of the system. We hope to have some news on newly developed games for the A600GS in future.
Next stop Amiwest... _________________ Amiga Kit Amiga Store Links: www.amigakit.com | New Products | A600GS |

Thanks! That's more informative than any official details so far! It doesn't look half bad! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Different case. V4 has an alluminium body and this one is 100% ABS plastic.
The construction is different too. The V4 case main body consists of a base and 2 sides and a top cover that slides into place, with end covers being screwed in place
The A600GS case main body is a 2 peice construction which screws together from the bottom half, with the end covers* being held in place by the main body. Amigakit have further added a branded acrylic plate that fits in the recess on top of the case.
*Amigakit appear to be waiting on laser cut end covers. |

Part of the target audience willl have never used Workbench so not using WB as your application launcher makes it a bit more accessible to novices. HDF files are supported so you should be abke to run your preffered version of Amiga OS. |

Note that I wrote “kernel” in quotes…
You wrote…

What's the 68K OS kernel? Userland software wouldn't work without supervisor-level software. Besides the official AmigOS 3.1/3.X and Hyperion's AmigaOS 3.1.4/3.2.x, I'm aware of AROS 68K-based ApolloOS and AROS Vision "Sunrise". |
To me, your list of “kernel” options isn’t about the 13kB micro kernel of exec.library, but rather the entire operating system. |
Amigakit: "We are using a blended system: AROS 68K ROM/Kernel with our System V46 running on top."

I think it might have to do with this:
Quote:
I think the THEA500Mini does not reveal the underlying AmigaOS system to the user to keep with the prior US legal agreements. Hence there are no Amiga applications present- it is purely a retro games platform.
We have developed our own system files over the last few years which when compiled for 68K, takes the V46 versioning. On PPC is it V54 versioning. The A600GS will contain V46 commands, tools, commodities, gadgets and datatypes. PPaint and Octamed boot using these commands. | amigakit original post
But amigakit should be able to explain it better, I just happened to bump on this thread and find it relevant hereLast edited by pixie on 24-Oct-2023 at 07:03 PM.

| I've just got around to watching AmiWest 2023 & I genuinely have absolutely no idea who on earth would need this!
It reminds me of the CDTV or a plan a chap called David came up with not so long ago i.e. seems like a good idea to the people envisioning it, but next to no one actually wants it!
It's presentation hasn't even got the nostalgia factor. Seems too complicated (at least in appearance) for a retro gaming device & restrictive (compared to other options) for anyone who wants to use it as a fully functional Amiga Computer.
Perhaps I'm completely wrong, too quick to judge as not seen enough & lack vision or whatever. On the face of it IMHO the time, talent & finance could be much better spent on other things. No one likes negative feedback but in the long run a bit of honesty can be helpful when listened to.
Having said all that I do at least like the controller.
